Catawba Falls Trail Guide

Here I show you how to get to and hike the trail to Lower and Upper Catawba Falls near Old Fort, North Carolina.
The trail to Lower Catawba Falls is easy enough for any hiker to reach, but the trail to Upper Catawba Falls should only be attempted if you are an experienced hiker and have a hiking partner with you at the time.
So much for that "once a week" plan, but that's life. I will continue making and improving these trail guides though, but school is taking priority at this time.

Great video! I wish the forest service would finally build the trail to the upper falls, they said they would in like 2016 and haven't yet

I was there yesterday (4/24/22) and it's funny how the plainly seen "danger" signs right before the rock climb is now covered in stickers. There is NO rope to try to make it up either. And the trail is CLOSING on 5/2/22 for improvements and not reopening till Spring 2023.

Never been to this one. I will add to my list to visit. Would be cool to have a couple videos of the local spillways around. Good many of the ones in Gaston county have been turned into hydro electric damns again. Lot of great grit mills around too. Linny's Mill Iredell County & Murrary's mill Catawba County. Then the ones in Lincoln county; Old Rhyne Mills was turned into a wedding venue. (they did some filming of the walking dead there before it was opened up. I think that it was the original spot for confederate laboratory .

The trail is closing till Spring 2023 starting on 5/2/22 so if you wanna visit you got one weekend left :)
