It's been a long time since I've seen you do a solo hike. It did look pretty chilly but like you said fortunately there was not much wind. The colors work popping out nicely on this video so you had pretty good lighting during the whole hike. Glad to hear that you and your wife are going up to Scotland in May. Nothing wrong with repeating trails... always something different. Nature is always changing.. Figures the only place you fell was a paved roadway and not in the rugged areas.. Awesome hike, awesome views... Glad you had a great solo Alan!!! 👍😎👍

Yeah, I parked next to the fell, on the roadside and the running water off the fell had frozen over night, so as soon as I stepped onto the road, I was flat on my face lol! Great job, I love that walk and also love how all the crowds disappear straight off Catbells on the way down and all of a sudden you have got it all to yourself on Maiden Moor and High Spy, cracking views as well. I remember this walk, as it was the first big one after my hernia operation, I walked 10 steps from the car, stepped on to black ice and then fell flat on my face lol! You can never do these walks too many times mate, stunning area, the sun rising above the lake with the frosty scenery looked amazing, looked freezing out but a really nice day. Me and my brother are planning to do a few lake district walks next year, hope you have a great Christmas mate 👍 ATB

As usual Alan, fantastic walk, views & video. Sorry about the fall, I hope your pride was the only thing hurt 😉 Looked very “fresh” up there and the ice made me want to put on my skates!!! I know how you feel about Ben Nevis.... I’ve been saying the same about Humphreys 😂 but I think this last time was THE LAST time. The Ben is a great hike though and I have fond memories of it from last September. Thank you as always for sharing and I look forward to all the upcoming adventures in 2020! Cheers 😁

Frosty Alan, how far do you have to drive to get to that spot? Totally amazing view first thing in the morning, those colours are just out of this world on the peaks. I defo need to be going there in the summer for a wild camp. Amazing thanks for bringing me along Alan. Lee
