great video, but i don't recommend doing the outside profile cut first as it is more likely to come loose. a newb should always carve non-through cuts first, then finish with the profile contour.

Thanks for the video. Your tip about the safety retract height fixed a problem on a sign file I was having and couldn't figure out. As soon as I heard your comment about it cutting across the corner of the bowl, I realized that's what was happening on my file. Just goes to show, you never know when the tip that helps you out will come from a totally unrelated video. Easel now was an extra safety height which you can set to avoid any external obstruction like clamps. You can still have a short safety/rapid height to allow quick retracts between cuts and at the end of the job, the extra height to get home safely!

Really nice video! Thank you for covering this. I am very very tempted to get a Onefinity for my personal projects. Also, pro tip I have done for the z-axis setting is to take a post-it note or note card that is taped hanging over an edge of the material. Then lower the bit until you touch the paper lightly, at this point you can zero the z-axis. This helps to prevent bit cracking or snapping because it does not provide any, substantial, force upwards on the bit as it is lowered and does not scratch the workpiece. I also sometimes use metal plates that are inscribed with their thickness. This way you can zero out minus the thickness of the plate if you need it very accurate.

Thanks! Ummm you could try adding the depth to your v bit. I have been practicing cutting out these dog faces and have the Onefinity and settings are copied off of what you suggested in this video for last step of cutting out the project. On one of the last passes I could hear the sound changing and it dug down into the pine before I could stop it and pulled the bit out of the router and stuck in the wood. The only thing I could think of was that I had the speed set too low on the router which was 3 1/2. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Awesome thanks. As a complete novice, I was wondering what is the accuracy one can achieve on a mass production doing this process? Meaning if I set specific sizes with the cnc, how accurate will be let's say the actual inside pocket compared to the settings? Because I have 200 ceramic dishes (rectangle shape) and I would like to have 200 trays made and then put the dishes inside the trays (I'd like them to fit as precise as possible without leaving to much of a gap). Would you say too much variation occurs among the trays causing some dishes to fit and some don't?
@robbie6625
@robbie6625 Жыл бұрын
There shouldn't be variation among the individual pieces. But they may not be to-size if you don't have your machine dialed in perfectly. I'd suggest make one, then see how your machine is doing size-wise and adjust accordingly

Watched the video several times but when I got to clear out pocket it is clearing out the whole circle including the offset now. Not sure if this was a recent update with easel or what I am doing wrong.
@TwoMooseDesign

I’m not exactly sure what you mean but you have to run them as separate files. One file to clear the pocket and another to cut outside out
@rurixsama

@@TwoMooseDesign I figured it out. It wasn't allowing me to select the inner circle individually to make the dish. Had to click off the entire thing then I was able to click the inner circle only to make that the dish portion and keep the offset separate

Can You show how to set up cutting multiple trays at once in easel?
@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 8 ай бұрын
Set zero on one pieces and measure off of that one and input the measurements to set the location of the next design. If you’re doing a bunch it’s a lot faster to glue up a panel and cut a bunch.

Hey! I’m a woodworker also and built my own CNC. I am looking to upgrade and am thinking about the onefinity CNC! I was wondering if there was a way to message you to get your help on trying to see if onefinity would send me a machine to review. Talk about what you did to get them to work with you. I know I’m a smaller channel than you but I’ve gotten over 52k views on some videos so hopefully that would help! I have Instagram if you guys do or if email is better. Thanks! And great video!
