The Wooded Beardsman just a tip next time you’re in the states. If you take the 3 numbers of your postal code and add “00” at the end, it should work. So if you’re A2B 3C4, 23400 should work as a zip code.

Can’t wait for this one lads 🥳, very much my kinda ish environment,except we fish the ocean as I live on the coast of the Irish capital, but fish lobster pheasant rabbit squirrel wood pigeon and lots more on offer , although leaving ocean aside it’s freshwater fishing rivers here brown trout my personal fav, but all the rest are here too pike perch roache, eels and a biggie for Irish fish are salmon man fresh water salmon here has a flavour which is sooo good were as a lot of salmon to me looklike there gona be awesome to eat when cooked that pinkish orange meat colour soo nice looking but no flavour ? Why is that ? Is it salt water ones or what. When we catch fresh from river and onto a pan or fire the flavour is soo good guys, and that’s not even talking about the shellfish alone that u can pick up on the rocky beaches just like stones there everywhere and crab and lobster man twice a day u could catch a good half dozen each time once in mornin once in evening but there’s really no need and if they don’t make a certain size they go back but not free back they go into a what’s called a store box every lobster fisherman has them u haul it every trip add to it and beef them baby’s up with lots of fish , also the mackerel are here so there’s that many of them I put like 5 hooks on your line couple feet apart and your pulling in 4s and fives a time then on to a bbq 20 mins after been landed and cleaned and lobster and crab get the insides. We waist nothing guys what we catch we eat or put it to good use like animal food , bait etc and that’s not evenin mentioning slingshot time for when youroff the beach and the veg fields and fields of veg all kinds not just potatoes 🥔 😂😂 but I seriously don’t think any country has a better summer potato or spud as we know them and I’m not just saying that this is personal experience not opinion! I can go out in the morning legally drop a few pigeon and if I wanted squirrel rabbits etc but for breakfast my only cheat would be mushrooms only cos there not ready wild this early but man when they are there again the best but there’s still wild garlic young spring onions (scallions)we call them a whole bunch of stuff that’s just breakfast 😉anyway enough of what I can harvest ! Get them vids sorted yous are imho the best 2 lads at this kinda ting on utube with your own friends too , but you guys have a good bond ✊🏻one I hope sees many more adventures 🙏and if it’s weight yous wanna gain jump on a plane to Ireland and live off the land and seas like kings and end up very fat ones 😂✌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Ha ha ha, our meal tonight before I even saw this video was freshly caught Alewife, never had them before. We were so excited to finally find a good spot and super excited to fill our bucket. I was not so excited to find that every mouthful was a choking hazard! There must be a better way to eat them.
@downeastprimitiveskills76885 жыл бұрын
Should be great to see you two in my home woods and along the coast. . Smoked the alewives are decent, the meat flakes off nicely you still get those fine bones but nothing to be concerned with . Smoke them very well and they will be preserved. One local favorite way is to smoke them whole with the guts and all. Clean them when it time to eat and you get the eggs too.

I’m looking forward to it. May need to watch both perspectives this time. But I can’t support that store. Not today, not ever. Anti sportsman, anti Firearms, anti outdoors. With the announcement that they will be removing all firearms, shells, and most hunting equipment from their inventories that will seal the deal.

The only way I've seen alewives eaten is after they were smoked as a snack. People buy them smoked and then put them in a small paper bag and put them in the oven for an hour. The bones get all cooked up so you can eat a good bit of the fish, but they still are a pain in the a__. Good smokey taste however. I live in Nobleboro and all the widows in town have a 2 bushel allocation of alewives, by law, every year. Most give their allocation to lobster fisherman they know for bait. You'd be better off looking for a good sucker run somewhere. They are tasty in the Spring when the water is cold.
@tonyjackson51155 жыл бұрын
I baked a couple alewives that I caught a few years ago. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they're terrible. I ground up the other 10 or so that I netted and put them in the garden. At least they didn't go to waste. Maybe try pickling them.

I have the History channel app and can watch any episode. So, I watched Alone , season 3, Episode 10, day 78, I think, it was the last episode. 3 remaining, Carleigh age 29, she was one tough girl! Had a really nice shelter. Lost a lot of weight, thinking of family. Megan, age 41, British Columbia, Canada, she was very smart, really knew her plants. Had a tooth ache, also thinking of family. Fowler age 36, Appleton Maine. Making faces into the camera, cutting bambo sticks. Megan tapped out, don't recall the exact day, maybe day 78 or 80. Day 86 I think down to two, Carleigh and Fowler, medical check up. Both had lost substantial weight. The medical team pulled Carleigh. She was very emotional, obviously. I always thought Alone should pay out more than the winner. Maybe to the last 3, or at least the last two. 2'nd place should get something, maybe $50,000. Day 87 Fowler worked on a yarn thing for Jami. He talks about missing his girls so much. Said he always wanted a family. Jami walks up behind Fowler. Naturally he's overcome with emotions and breaks down, hugging Jami. They ride out in the boat, then a helicopter, enjoying how beautiful Patagonia is, such beautiful country. Then it shows Fowler returning home. Finally gets to see his two beautiful little girls. Talks about how evrything will be much better now for his family, buying a home, and never leaving his family again. I can watch any episode of Alone with the History channel app. Great job Fowler!
