Give away winner have been drawn by Arbor Creek and they are: Trervor P, Jocelyn Y, and Connor J!
Catch and cook and camp in California! Amazing river with LOTS of trout. Brought minimal gear, had to build a small bridge to cross a fast moving stream. 2 nights, 3 days, hiking in over 2 miles with 40+lbs of gear. Totally worth it and an amazing trip. I will try to make more survival videos in the future. Not saying this is one exactly, but I will demonstrate wild edible plants, how to build shelter and fire from scratch as well in future videos. Thank you for watching, subscribing and supporting the channel!

From the Company, "We're a brand new company and we were tired of seeing the huge price gouging by the major brands. We are giving you the same product at half the cost!
Not only are we delivering this product for cheaper, but we're actually donating a tree for every hammock sold! We know that our product would not exist without trees, and we want to help revive the forest. We have partnered with the national forest foundation and a couple other planting project organizations to achieve this goal. www.arborcreekoutfitters.com is our website, but we are selling them on Amazon too. amzn.to/2ryPhm5"

Hello Fisherman, Sleeping in a hammock is something you have to get used to. When you have the wright setup you sleep like a princes. I watched a lot of hammock video's one youtube that helpt me. First thing is getting a under quilt to stay warm. Put your hammock 45 degree (putting your vingers in a pistol chape, the line have to touche our thumb and your indexvinger) will help sleeping straight and not like a banana. Hope you get wright, for me no more sleeping un the ground. Greetings Steven

@Kaiser Wilhelm II You and the other oafs sound like morons. You can very easily have a decent bolt action rifle or higher caliber revolver in California. Seems more like it's just a personal choice that he doesn't. None of CA's laws restrict you from carrying what you'd NEED in a wilderness survival situation. Just because you can't play GI Joe in the forest doesn't mean a damn thing. And if laws meant to protect are too restrictive, then by that logic, let's open the borders for anyone, right? Surely y'all would have no issue with that? Don't take this as a defense of restrictive gun laws either, I'm just more understanding of the reasoning behind laws.
@bravobear1844
@bravobear1844 4 жыл бұрын
Ken Masters, yeah I’d prefer a 357mag revolver and a 45/70 lever action anyways.. just in a carnivores rhino pops out of somewhere. But really I doubt those two option are very restrictive in California, but I also wish I had a mini gun so 🤷‍♂️

Hammock camping is the way to go, it takes some practice but after you get comfortable with it you'll never want to sleep on the ground again. Personally, I pull my hammock tight. I know what people say and if it works for them that's fine. But, for me pulling the hammock a bit tight works.

@@bobthebuilder2922 seasoning works with most foods. Salt can be used to make food almost taste more like itself. It amplifies flavor. Pepper adds some nice flavor and heat. Chefs use them on nearly everything because they're good at enhancing flavors, while not necessarily adding any overpowering flavors.

if you eat fresh fish cooked right, you prob would like it. I was the same, When I was a kid, dad took me fishing and I vomited from the smell of the guts and rotting fish leftovers in the cleaning areas, it kept me away from fish for such a long time. About a year ago I found this seafood place close to my home, they are a fish market but they also cook fish on the side, they have such a high turn over that the seafood is always fresh and it taste AMAZING. Fresh fish does not have that "Fishy" taste to it and when cooked right it's epic, I even eat oysters/clams now. I would recommend a nice white fish. It was a little sad because I loved hunting and I loved fishing but would never keep anything, now I keep everything I catch (within bag limits and legal size)

Pro tip for hammock camping: In my personal experience if you set the straps as tight as you can making the hammock tight and straight, when you get in you'll bring laying more flat due to the tension. Also in your case you set your straps wrong, there should be a loop at the end of the rope that you feed the other end of the rope through making a loop around the tree and all you do is tighten them at whatever height you want. Just subbed!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the cramping is due to the hammock. You did some lengthy hiking with a 50ish lb pack. At a mile and half, you feel it in your shoulders, which tells me you do not train-hike. Because you didn't train for it, also tells me that your legs we not ready for prolonged expenditure carrying that extra weight. Your dehydration from that also drained your salt reserves. Did you bring any salt on this trip? Sodium is man's best friend in the wild. If your body gets flushed out of all it's sodium, then your cellular structure in your muscles will lose the vital fluids that salt maintains at proper diet levels (around half teaspoon/day or 1 teaspoon if you are very active.) The loss of salt in your body coupled with the unexpected muscle exertion in your legs, is probably why you were cramping. I know all of this because it happened to me. I went out 2 1/2 miles off trail to do a bushcraft camp with about the same weight as yours. I didn't train for it, so that night when the temperature started dropping...my legs started cramping up pretty bad all night. I had drank plenty of water, but it didn't matter. I had depleted my sodium stores so the water I drank was not properly absorbed into the muscles. It just flushed through like beer. That's my best guess. The sudden leg workout, lack of sodium, and lower temperature of night causing muscles to contract or quiver, in turn causing the muscle to cramp. You can always carry a vial with you and put 1/4 teaspoon or so in your pine tea or water when you drink. Hope that information helps you some.

what helped me out while sleeping in a hammock out in the backcountry, was putting a backcountry self-inflating air pad(ALPS Mountaineering Brand) inside my hammock. Not only did it keep me comfortable all night, but it also help stabilize me while I slept! Sort of like that time you made a wooden platform for your inflatable raft in order to have more stability when you were afloat. Hope that helps Matt and keep up the awesome videos!

When you’re setting up the hammock straps you loop the small end through the big loop at the other end then clip the hammock at ur desired tightness. This avoids slipping on the trees.

I noticed you cook your trout without thehead on. There is a delicate piece of meat on each side called the cheek. Cook with the head on and located between the eye, front gill, and corner of the mouth is the cheek. It looks like a small sea scallop. Try it- you will love them. Keep fishing! Love your videos.

I love all of your vids, but these trout videos are my favorite. So serene and there is nothing like fresh trout that you caught yourself. I was in Norcal once and caught a few. Best meal I have ever had. I gutted them, seasoned with butter, salt and pepper then wrapped in foil and tossed them in the fire coals for a while. Fantastic.. Anyways. Thx for your effort and for bringing such amazing content.

One thing that makes me so angry is that you get people like this guy who makes really good content I love it but he hardly has any subs and I bet someone will react to this video and make more money than he does it triggers me so much that these fight spinners videos and Disney princes videos make more view than this video it is so well edited with the drone and camera gear he has but so much effort in to this video and not many people will even see it Reply if you understand Also I do really like this video keep up the good work man

THEmysteryDIMOND can't believe the likes of KSI and that sort of people make money off playing video games, or at least that's what enabled them to do so. He doesn't care about his viewers, his content etc. Whereas, guys like FML, TDB and Miller Wilson are all inspirational, hard working and thoroughly entertaining however, even with their infinite effort..they get overshadowed by people who are immature, annoying and arrogant

Nicely done! I love trout too and if I could, I would suggest taking along clarified butter and a couple rashers of bacon or bacon grease - mix the oils @50/50 to kick the flavor up a notch. Clarified butter can be made (its easy) or bought, its often called 'Ghe' and needs no refrigeration. It will last for weeks.
