Shore Jigging for False Albacore from shore is a challenge. Tuna, Little Tuna or False Albacore are a perfect target when shore jigging in winter. In this How To-Tutorial I talk about my experience with this species and give tips how to approach them.

The most beautiful thing about this fish is the combat, so when I feel that it has hit me, I have fun with it as much as possible. I give it room to escape and bring it back exhausted so that it does not create chaos in front of very sharp stones. 😂😂🌊

Hey Chris, oh of course they can cut you - especially when the circle below your feet. But the don't aim for it like Amberjacks do. That's the game bro - we loose fish, especially with this difficult technique. When I think about my losses from the past few years I cry... 😭 Hope to get a second shot bro - fish hard! TL Max

02:34 fyi it works well with more challenging species like groupers and even their goliath relatives. They just love it.
@maxdocken
@maxdocken 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, unfortunately we don't have Goliath Groupers here in the Mediterranean, but good to hear that it works well! 💪 At least for our Groupers I wouldn't consider them as a smart species like snappers or so, If they are in the mood to feed they attack everything slow and in it's sight. Tight lines Max
@hldemi_fishing
@hldemi_fishing 5 ай бұрын
@@maxdocken Thats true for smaller grouper species... Bigger groupers are kinda like humans.. Definitely one of the smartest fish in the sea. If you manage to speak with experienced spearfishing divers ask them if they think that groupers are stupid and prepare to hear some of the craziest stories ever.... Their game with holes is so sophisticated and reaction to the speargun is on whole different level.... its insane how smart they are. Also their cooperation with some other species like muray eels and stealing the fish from divers... Dentex is also very smart I agree but I would not say its smarter than grouper... Just more in control of its predatory instict. Similar to the AJ. It has the best fighting IQ but still its high predatory instict make them easy to strike especially smaller ones.
@maxdocken
@maxdocken 5 ай бұрын
@@hldemi_fishing that might be true, old fish are most of the time somehow smart. From the perspective as a shore angler we deal most of the times with the smaller individuals, if we hook a big one from shore the chances are close to zero and these fish are not the really big ones. Greetings to Croatia 🙋‍♂️

@@jasonspiteri9196 I have only the Muthos Accura 100H, and fished the 100 HH only once. For my fishing here in the Mediterranean Sea the 100 H is perfect, 100 HH is needed only in some rare and special situations. If you are in between both rods, consider also the new Muthos Accura 95 H roughly it's a combination of H and HH. Tight lines Max

Welchen Gaff hast du Max?
@maxdocken
@maxdocken 3 ай бұрын

Nach was genau suchst du?
