As someone who is blind in one eye , two half blind fish back to back would have been some kind of sign for sure lol.. I got two fly fishing poles on the way and you inspired me to try it so wish me luck when they get here and thanks for always making awesome content!

Was up on your mountain yesterday and caught a few. Google showed one lake only a quarter of mile from the one I was fishing. Problem was it was a quarter of a mile straight down a mountain. At almost 80 years old I thought better of it. Just decided to finish hiking around the lake I was fishing.😊

So that long hike was worthwhile... These tiger trout are sometimes very aggressive as fry in the hatchery. It is not uncommon that they attack the eyes of other fry and eat the eyes! It sometimes happens with brown trout fry too.

Reminds me of the 70's hiking up to Spider Lake in Desolation wilderness among others in the Sierra. Nothing like waking up next to the Carmel River in Ventana wilderness/Big Sur and catching naturals ( 12-14" ) for breakfast with no one around but us. As my Idol John Denver said " Talk to God and listen to the casual reply " ( Rocky Mountain High ). Peace.

If that's where I think it is, I'm going up there in about a week. It's only been stocked with brookies twice in the last 10 years.
