Agree @chromemutt. Spending my time video editing, rubs it in even more! At least others get to see some fish having been caught - but its not the same as being out their doing it - even if a session just results in a blank. Plenty of content on the way - still have a lot of unused footage Michael! Will continue with my uploading schedule (normally Thursday evenings), unless unforeseen circumstances intervene. Each video has a 'trailer / teaser' at the end of what's coming next. For anyone who's interested, the venues in sequence for the next 4 should be 1) Southampton Water, 2) Southend, 3) Dunwich, 4) Southampton Water. @@rodsangleuk6283 ty , next time I'm down after the lockdown I will take my gear and have a fish there , very similar to the orwell I fish or the stour , apart from the double tides , my dad was station ed at RAF colshot for 5 years so spent a few hours fishing there while off duty by the huts , ty again great vlog

Sadly flounder fishing seems to be in decline in many areas. Southend, my home venue, was once full of them, now a rare sight, except from the pier stem.

The steps to your right is probably one of the most prolific spots along weston shore and the other is down towards the jetty when you come to wooden spikes coming out of the shingle you know you are in the right spot

Haha - sometimes use braid straight through to the hook - but now only if spider crabs or mitten crabs are a problem!

i thought we were in lock down and could not go out fishing until further notice ,,was this filmed before the out break ,,i wish i was out fishing looks like September before we will be aloud out ,well tight lines and lets hope were all still here in September ,,

I really hope we can all get out soon. When I'm filming, I fish alone. Some people choose to come to speak to me, but I effectively self-isolate on a beach, otherwise I wouldn't be filming properly. I have the date of this session in the video at 0:02 and 22:49; but thanks for questioning it, since I forgot to put that in the description below, so will add that. I think its important for those who watch fishing videos to know where and when they were filmed - this was filmed on 28.12.19. I still have a fair amount of pre CV lockdown footage , so will continue to put it out. Nothing spectacular though - but if for no other reasons, it will remind us all of what we are missing and maybe fishing away from anyone else will soon be allowed again. Hi Rod? That tatic you use lifting and dragging your trace to entice the fish to respond. DO you think that it will help in the muddy water of the thames.

Yes it does - stirs up a patch of sediment, which gets a bit of interest from passing fish and those that need encouragement to take your hookbait.

Enjoy your video's Rod. 100 metres to your left is a shallow spit, which is very much more productive than where you are sited. Spent more than a decade fishing almost daily along Weston Shore. Would love to see a video of you fishing Weston jetty.
