I’ve been posting good catfish videos all summer. But, I get it. You guys love crappie fishing as much as I do. I got burnt out and was very tired of my bank spots getting hammered. So, the kayak will see me to new waters and new videos.

I use just a plain white Charlie Brewer slider but I dip the tail in Spike-It Dip-N-Glow. I also add a pink Berkley crappie nibble to the hook. Works like a champ!

Ive been practicing that shooting technique in my backyard. I have 7ft Lews wally marshall signature series Cant remember the reel off the top of my head. But im able to hit a 5 gallon bucket from about 10 - 15 yards. Im tryin to keep it less than 3 or 4 feet off the ground simulating going up under a dock. Seems to work pretty well. I wanna get out and give it a shot.
@jigginwithjake279620 күн бұрын
That is great way to dial in this technique. Water level is really low in all our local lakes. So, it makes dock shooting way easier for those just getting started.

Good afternoon ! Jiggin with jake. You’re my favorite crappie KZbinr and I miss your crappie KZbin videos. I’m a 60 years old man and I love casting for crappie and shells crawler and red ear and bluegills from the bank. I’m looking at two of the ACC crappie stix spinning rods but I have the money to just buy one of them and I need for you to pick me one of them please and the two ACC crappie stix spinning rods that I’m looking at is 1. ACC crappie stix green series 7’6” split grip casting spinning rod.2. ACC crappie stix 8 foot super grip mid seat spinning rod. Please pick me one of them Jiggin with jake. The fishing that I will be doing is casting / float bobber crappie fishing from the bank but make sure that spinning rod that you pick for me have a strong enough backbone to land a bass are a catfish if it gets my bait and I can land him to the bank please. please answer my question with your honest opinion please I’m counting on you Jiggin with jake 🙏
@jigginwithjake279626 күн бұрын
Hello! Thank you for your kind words. I would recommend the 7’6” split grip! It’s my favorite casting rod and will handle bigger fish!

Excellent! Is there an ideal depth of water for the docks to be in? You mentioned 4' of water.
@jigginwithjake27967 күн бұрын
That just depends on water temps and time of year. Fishing each dock thoroughly will tell you more on where the fish are stationed.

Hey Jake enjoy watching your videos. Have used some of your methods with my son and caught lots of fish. Just curious what lakes you fish? I go to Shelbyville a lot but always looking for other lakes near me to try. Thanks for videos keep em coming.

Good video!! Any rhyme or reason for dock selection? Do they all hold fish or are you looking for key attributes?
@jigginwithjake279612 күн бұрын
Right now I’m fishing main lake docks that are anywhere from 4-8’ of water off the end of the dock. Finding fish pinned to the very back of the docks. As the water cools, these fish move into docks on coves. Sometimes it takes a little bit to dial em in. But once you start finding fish, you can replicate the pattern on other docks.
