In the lake next to me , in the spring it is almost always a big plastic jig with a green tail, black body, with a red or pink head … it will usually out fish the others here about five to one .

Turn the drag down and tire the fish out, that way they are less feisty on land :)

How do you know how deep to fish when vertical jigging docks?
@jigginwithjake279628 күн бұрын
Crappie feed up. So I usually start shallow and work my way down until I dial in what depth they are feeding in.

Black and white crappie are good. The hybrids are starting to spawn here in Texas, and hybrids get really big. The last hybrid i caught was about 3 years ago, and was 18 inches, and 3.30 pounds! Great video bud

I catch tank crappies in ponds in March 39° water temp , the smallest blue back , orange belly , chrome suspended husky jerk , and a killer one of ya tweak it to suspend setting 100% idle , the lil Arkie crappie crank.

Excellent content my friend! New to this but im ask for crappie is it better to use mono vs braid? Or braid with floro or mono leader?

Thank you. I’m a mono only guy. For no other reason than it treats me well.

We call them Fibheads up here in Wisconsin. My grandpa sent me a newspaper clipping nearby hime where the flathead weighed more than the woman who caught it. They tied her to the picnic table the fish weighed 78 pounds. It was a long the rock river near his town of Manlius?

Caught my 1st largemouth on a cane pole. I'm going crappie fishing in about 2 weeks. Too crowded where I can go. (don't walk well) Just bought 2 cane poles for my wife and I. It will be her first and my first in over 60 years. Love this video.

When you're using a bait clicker reel, is it best to lock it down or let it run with the clicker? I use a Carolina rig when catfishing. Thank you PS: Your videos are fantastic. E.W.
@jigginwithjake27962 ай бұрын
Thanks EW. In my opinion, bank fishing I run clicker. Drifting or suspending baits from the kayak I typically do not use the clicker.

If it’s 70 degrees one day and 35 the next day in the spring, will crappie staging in the 70 degree weather be in the same place when it’s 35 the following day?
@jigginwithjake27962 ай бұрын
Depends on how many days it’s been 70. Really more about the water temp than the air temp.
