My dad was a RB in highschool and he was also on kick returns, he always talks about how tough catching kicks was. Also random question, do punters wear grip socks similar to how we do in soccer, or do they just wear normal athletic socks. And also how did practices in HS and college look like as a punter. I'm considering trying out as a kicker/punter for my hs team next year, being a soccer player I alr have a decent jump on it. But I run XC during the fall and I'd really like to focus on that. So like what's the commitment level during those practices as a specialist.

I did punt return in highschool, obviously very rarely did I see anything over 40 yards but I can tell you, I worked more on the catch than my SS position. That shit was easy, pitch man, flats. Punt return..... at least 1 hour a day just catching punts.
