We head up the coast, fishing for the hard fighting fat Motu kahawai. Also go diving for some kina ( sea urchin). Smoking the fish in the outdoor smoker, the best way to cook the fish using manuka.
If you enjoy our vids, you might want to support us on Patreon, from as little as $3 USD a month which is about the price of a coffee.

Hello I am a Chinese. I was very shocked when I saw your video. I am fascinated by the lifestyle and status of your family. Thank you very much for your video and I am full of expectation and sunshine for my future life. I really want to go fishing and hunting with you and your friends and your lovely children. I am an excellent Chinese chef. You can cook different foods for you on the road (joking) but if you like! But I am in Auckland, I really want to experience your lifestyle! Thanks again for the joy and surprise that your video has brought me.

Weka Digital Media NZ i had to watch it twice. Beautiful place and great fishing as well as the cooking. There's not many good places left in Victoria anymore. Nz is such a beautiful place. My grandmother always went for a holiday there. Always makes me wonder why the kiwis would want to come to Australia with its traffic and over population. Take care mate and thanks for these videos.

Mean as vid bro! Diver's Ear Remedy (two-day treatment) - 20ml of Dettol, dilute with 500ml of water in a clean spray bottle, shake until a cloudy mix (when using it). Set to spray not pistol. Fit nozzle to your ear canal and spray; a gentle trigger finger works best. The stinging pain is momentary. Have a spray bottle of water, only, to flush out Dettol if you don't enjoy the pain. Tilt your head towards the nozzle if you have to spray more than once. Spray morn, midday and after tea. Bonus ball: It also works well for Black Toe (spray once every night until it looks right) and for an itchy body part in particular, as well (One part Dettol, dilute with 750ml of water; test on a patch of skin first).

Mean bro, just stumbled across your video. We used to go camping out at Omaio all the time when we were young but havent been back there since the 80's so its been awhile. We used to camp by the bridge when you go past Omaio shops towards Te Kaha, the first bridge after the shops, there was a little grass section just before you get to the bridge, thats where we camped. When it rained hard, the river would overflow so we'd go back toward Whitianga Bay where one of my uncles had a bach out that way and stay there but that camp site was better cos you had deep water and a tree to do bombs off. I heard you can no longer camp there which is a pity. Spent nearly every summer over there. Im sure there was a pub at Te Kaha, us kids spent half the time camping and the other half waiting in the car outside the pub.

Love your videos bro, I remember the time I went to the motu it was amazing, and the kahawai were fat as. I'm a Te puke man that usually fish at Maketu (the cut) so many people there at the cut, but anyway I miss fishing so much, i moved to Aus for 10 years with my wife and now I live in Dubai, I think I'm going to come home for a good holiday. Thank you your video was awesome

Was the camp site, where an elderly man who used to breed pig dogs, and wrote a book on how to train them, live? Or lived, or used to stay etc lol. It looks like the place Dad and. Used to go to pick up wool, the man had two or three sheep. So was a few years worth of wool all covered in dust lol. It looks like the same place. Looks like it was a good few days away, and the weather behaved for you. The young fella u took with u. How did his fishing go?
