This peacock bass and piranha fishing adventure was one of the coolest yet! With my girlfriend as a translator, I started "talking" to this Brazilian working at a Fish Store and he suddenly invited me to go fishing with him whenever I wanted! He had 2 kayaks and loved fishing for peacock bass.We caught so many fish and cooked up some golden piranha over a fire......but I forgot the salt. We tried seasoning the fish with lime and a Brazilian chip, but it was not super tasty. I really have to make it up to him in the next catch and cook...
The day was still a blast and I'm having so much fun learning all these new freshwater fishing methods!

By the way Ace, if you do another catch and cook crawfish you can take the middle fin from the end of the tail and wiggle it left and right gently and the whole poop vein thing comes out. There are five fins on the tail and you pull the middle one untill the whole thing pulls out. It's a simple way to clean them!

Isn’t it interesting making friends with people where you both don’t speak a lick of each other’s language? I always found that prospect kinda cool. The more you hang out, the more you learn how to communicate and speak the others language, and eventually you get to a point where the language you speak is a mix of both XD. Ever try to use a set of cooking shears to help prep the catches? I use one from Snap on tools, it makes everything super easy. You can cut off fins and spines easily.
