That's a bit deep! The prep would be the same, just make sure you pack them on really well. Maybe look at a Hybrid style feeder as it will hold them in a bit better than a traditional method feeder.

Yes when fishing upto an island they can only kite rather than run away from you like in open water. So leaving it clipped up should be ok :)

Generally fish will push away from the bank side disturbance, so getting away from you is an advantage. Especially earlier in the session.
