"Piri" is the last part of the Nightmare Arc (their Japanese release "Breaking out" can be seen as an alternative ending). In "What", the girls have been searching for Yoohyeon, and here they find each other again, but in the end they are all stuck in the white dimension. A Piri is a Korean flute that was used historically to signal danger, and that is what Yoohyeon does here when the members arrive. She is the one capturing them one by one, to rescue them and bring them to safety. They are together in the end, but still stuck. Dreamcatcher don't do happy endings. 😉 Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu. Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger!

Glad to see you reacting to more Dreamcatcher! For whenever you choose to react to some more of them, I would actually recommend checking out some of their b-sides rather than watching all of their title tracks first. Pretty much all of the title tracks have some amount of their rock element involved and since you've commented about rock not being your favorite or what you're most familiar with, their b-sides would be perfect to see some of their less rock-oriented side. They have songs with influences from tons of different genres so there's a huge variety to choose from. I would recommend checking out their official videos for Red Sun and Poison Love as well as the performance video of Black or White from the Dingo Music channel and there's a good live performance of their song Jazz Bar on the Arirang k-pop channel. Also, for whenever you feel ready to get to know the members more, I would say check out the youtube channel Insomnicsy. She has some of the best Dreamcatcher fan content out there and has an ongoing "This is..." series with videos for each member and tons of themed videos.

The Dystopia series explores themes of bullying within the idol industry and society at large. The three songs can be likened to the three wise monkeys-speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil. In "Scream," the tree of life bore black fruit as hurtful words spread across the world. Continuing in "Boca," the tree of life deteriorated further, leading Dreamcatcher to portray themselves as goddesses of water, purifying the world. Notably, SuA's bridge line "Too many angels dying now, I'm gonna change your mind" is interpreted as a commentary on idols facing extreme pressures in the harsh industry environment. In "Odd Eye," a futuristic perspective highlights how technology amplifies the harsh judgments people make against each other. Bullying intensifies through the internet, preventing Dreamcatcher from finding utopia. A perfect world free from harm is revealed to be an illusion.

Thanks for checking out more Dreamcatcher! Piri is the 6th song in their Nightmare series and was the first DC song I ever heard. It popped up in a random playlist while I was driving, and I immediately loved it. I remember when I got to a redlight I went back and found the song again and gave it a thumbs up. Unfortunately, I never listened to any of their other music until a bit over a year later when I got recommended the Scream MV in late 2020. They very quickly became my ults after that and I've been here ever since. That sample in Piri is pretty popular and has been used in a bunch of songs, though Piri was one of the first, I think. Deja Vu is a standalone song and was done as a collaboration with a mobile game called Kings Raid. They did a few cross promotions with this game over the years and also created the second season opening for the game's anime, Kings Raid: Successors of the Will, which is called Eclipse. The story in the Deja Vu MV is that Yoohyeon is a ruler of the kingdom, and she becomes corrupted by the darkness at the beginning. After this happens, she begins to believe that all of her friends and advisors are attempting to take the throne for themselves and want to overthrow her. She has a confrontation with Jiu, who forgives her and throws down her sword, but when her back is turned, Yoohyeon picks it up and betrays her. This scene is shown from two different perspectives during the two pre-choruses. One is from Yoohyeon's perspective, where she is the victim, and one from Jiu's (which is reality) where Yoohyeon is the antagonist. Once Jiu is removed, Yoohyeon either banishes or removing the rest of her friends and ends up alone with nothing but her memories. Odd Eye is the 3rd and final part of the Dystopia trilogy and talks about how social media is a false Utopia, so you picked up on that symbolism. If you're going to do b-sides, I highly recommend just doing album reactions. All of DC's bsides are good to great and many are as good or better than their title tracks, especially if you're not really into Rock music. Outside of their title tracks their diversity is unmatched and you'll find EDM, Jazz, Reggae, Trap, Funk, R&B, Rock, Metal, Ballads, and much more in their discography.

Oh, you can do Lucid Dreaming! Awesome! I can only do that once in a while and it happens by accident for me. I have to be able to realize I am dreaming before I can do that and whenever that starts, it means I am starting to wake up so it never lasts long enough for me. :D
