Catch Wrestling is making a big comeback as US supremacy in the grappling arts is re-established. This has only been possible by the tirelsess work of a few that kept CACC from disappearing and BJJ take all the credit for CACC techniques. CACC is not a sport and it is intended to hurt and neither is it gentile or passive. Be careful employing its techniques. There is a long way to go before CACC is on level with BJJ but bringing back the collegiate wrestlers already 80% trained in CACC and a few modifications will allow for entry into MMA and a competing Federation for IBJJF and other venues.

It's all the same thing now. Everything mixed. No gi bjj is just submission wrestling. Luta livre, wrestling, cacc is all mixed in there.

@Lion Heart Except jiu jitsu didn't even have that kind of submissions in the Edo Period. Most of those only came to be in the late 19th century with the Kodokan. By the 1920's Catch already had already developped most of its own submissions and mixed with Jiu Jitsu.

I trained catch for 6 months then moved. I just started grappling again at a bjj gym after 3 years. But all the coaches started grappling from cacc. So they were nice enough to let me leg lock people and neck crank when they saw I was competent. I can tap the other white belts especially in a scramble. But the blue belts and up are on a totally different level. I hope I can train in both bjj and catch. I love grappling in general. If I could do judo and sambo too I'd be a happy guy. Btw good job on the match. I was told catch doesn't work at higher levels but you showed me it still can.

dvl dgz keep training. It will come. It’s easier to beat BJJ or catch if you KNOw BJJ or catch.

Eh if this was catch then you'd lose as soon as you pull guard for being on your back. Catch without pins is just basically no gi with some unorthodox movements and subs. You're good doing just a regular no gi program..
