Can I make a suggestion. I found that once you have levelled up significantly in this game, you can simply throw the right poke ball at the pokemon you want despite being at full health when you battle by making sure your pokemon is not weak to the one you are trying to catch without having to lower health points and just inflict status conditions, except False Swipe.

For anyone wondering. Spiritomb has a 2 percent chance of spawning at night time only at shrouded ruins. It has a 30 percent chance of being alpha. A 1 in 585.75 chance of being shiny if you have perfect research level and shiny charm. So you have a 0.00102 percent chance of getting shiny alpha spiritomb before the update.

Mikey, just resting for the cleffa without knocking out or catching any of the Pokémon already there won’t change the spawns. You’d be seeing the exact same ones each time until you force an advance by either leaving to the village or catching them. Also I’d recommend going to the ground as cleffas are known to hide in the flowers.

Here's a new mission challenge that's exciting Do a massive mass outbreak catch challenge. Who ever catches the most pokemon from a single massive mass outbreak In a area wins. Point system Regular are worth 1 point Alpha are worth 3 points Shiny are worth 10 points SHINY ALPHA is worth 20 points. Stray shinies you encounter on your way to outbreaks are worth 5 points. 3 rules. 1. Beating them does not count, they have to be caught. You can beat them as a option however. 2. Once you enter the outbreak in the spot, you HAVE to catch or beat them all before moving to the next spot. Leaving deducts half your current points if there's still pokemon in that spot The only exception is if they have spawned in a rock or are unobtainable. 3. The time limit it's the amount of time on that massive outbreak. Whoever manages to get best 3 wins out of 5 massive mass outbreaks rounds is the winner.

To avoid the long path John mentioned. I always fast travel to the Pearl settlement fly with Braviary up to the cliff on the left and use Sneasler to climb up that cliff so much quicker than taking that road honestly. Edit - Update 1.1.0 would've made this challenge much easier and harder maybe since original outbreaks don't work the same anymore. I've found an Alpha Shiny Murkrow in the massive outbreak and 2 Shiny Spiritombs and 2 Shiny Cyndaquil I'll admit it's the best update in my opinion. Currently I have 42 shinies lol

A little note to make new pokemon spawn faster: You can either ko, catch or make the pokemon in that area to run away, go to sleep 2 times at least (I recommend doing midnight then to midday again). It's how I'm able to find many munchlax and pichus and many other baby or just any rare spawn pokemon, hope this helps someone.

You'll likely never see this Mikey, but some insight on how spawns work in this game (that might have helped you on zoroark/cleffa) from someone struggling to get a Perfect Dex: Approximately every 15 minutes of play time, the game refills every empty spawn location. Sleeping doesn't change anything on the field, or advance that timer. What likely happened with that first Zorua is that you knocked the first one out, then the map re-filled the empty slot between then and when you came back. But of course, you didn't have time for 15 minutes to pass to allow it to re-spawn again, so no others showed up. Also, no Pokémon on the map will ever de-spawn on their own. The only way to change what's on the field without going back to Jubilife is to KO, catch, or scare away the 'mons already present in that spawn location, so when the next 15-minute refill happens, there's an empty space for something new to show up in. EDIT: A slight correction! The refill of empty encounter spots does not occur every 15 minutes, there are two triggers: 1. A new time of day (Morning, Day, Evening, Night) starts; 2. The weather changes.
