Grew up eating mullet as a kid we ate it smoked from time to time but mainly fried it helped fill in the lean times when money was scarce for my Dad still fish for them when they ball up in the winter there's not alot of money in it but it helps keep the lights on and maintains the old Florida tradition great video nice to see them banging the net when you're hauling them in that means it was a great throw new sub

Thanks for sharing that recipe, video reminded me of back in the seventies when we lived in Jacksonville Florida and we would go to the jetties and we catch coolers full of mullet someone gets smoked someone get fried and we always fried eggs and the gizzards another great video man

This brings back memories, ate so much smoke mullet in the 70s, fish dip was going down. Smoked mullet by far is one of my favorites. Think there's still a real popular place in Samsula, couple places in Volusia county you can still get it. Don't see many big mullet in the Indian River here in Brevard. Great job all around bro 💪🏼👍🏼

Last time I went to catch mullet at Ponce inlet, I caught a couple of 5lb. trout mixed in with the mullet! Why don't you remove the roe first before filleting the mullet?
