Lovely brown Dusty @ 16:00 ish also I’ve finally figured out your knot which thinking about it makes so much sense for ease of changing lures I’ve been using Mustad snap hooks which is basically a tiny clip for easy swapping of lures/spinners but I’m gonna try the big loop knot 😉😁 I was hoping you would share some info regarding streamers ie size weight & colours ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26207 ай бұрын
Yessir that knot is the one I’ve used my whole life, my dad taught it to me & I’ve just never needed another one! 🤙 As far as streamer size they’re basically a 1/4oz jighead with marabou & feather tied to them…… I prefer the gold or copper colors but by all means I’d try to duplicate the colors of the bait fish in your local streams! 👌👍 Cheers & Best of luck my friend 🍻🎣😁🤙🇺🇸

@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Thank you Dusty 😉👍🏼 yeah I use that exact loop knot to tie my leader to my fly line but just a lot smaller I’m so glad I saw what you were doing because it was annoying me trying to figure out how you tied your Mepps on so quick 😁 take it easy Bro & have a lovely weekend ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼

Dusty watching you pinpoint cast in rather difficult situations is amazing. That’s some serious skill. Very nice video as always sir!
@Asquaredoutdoors8 ай бұрын
Also if you haven’t been to the breaches in awhile I highly recommend. The catch and release section behind Allenberry is holding some nice rainbows and browns right now. Artificial lures only if not fly fishing. It’s a beautiful place and will get you some good content!

I appreciate the compliment boss…. 👌🤙😁 A cpl years of practice finally paid off lol Yeah I’ll definitely have to make it over that way sometime soon! 🤙😁🎣

Dusty do you like to mount the trout before you release them back into the water?

Does that stream have some AMD, or other mine drainage influence? Just curious if it was a dead one that they have been treating. Seems like some good things are happening around the state with Lime and artificially created marshes etc.
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26208 ай бұрын
Negative on the AMD…. Actually a fair amount of Spring influence & a moderate amount of swamp influence as well!

Just started watching your channel very well done. I have not seen you use a spinner with any type of dressing on the hook. Do you always run them plain and is that a #3 blade?
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26208 ай бұрын
Appreciate the compliment brother!! Yeah I rarely use the dressed spinners, I have before but the skirt hinders the sink speed & I want them to sink as fast as they can, the bottom is where the big ones are! 🤙 And I pretty much exclusively run both 2s & 3s…. I’m much more accurate with casting the 2s but like the Xtra weight of the 3s & if you catch something on the 3 you know it’s gonna be big! 👌😁 Tight Lines Boss, & hope you enjoy the rest of the vids….. they’re all good I think!!🤙

I'm not baffled. This guy fishes on sportsman's club private property streams where they pay a premium to have fish stocked for members only. Catch and release. Probably pays a fee too, like at a pay lake. That's why he never reveals the streams he fishes. Notice that no one else is ever fishing on these streams with all the big fish in it.

I have a similar spot here in NJ. It is more brushes and has a 45 degree drop to the stream luckly there is a rope to access the spot
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26208 ай бұрын
Hells yeah man, generally anytime there’s a deep pool whether be a culvert or a Trussell there are typically some big fish in these spots! 👌😁🙌

I think I know this spot I won’t mention exactly but 5mins from Altoona pa?
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26208 ай бұрын

Out of curiosity, which part about it amazes you? Fishing smaller caliber streams is kind of my bread & butter! I really enjoy fishing bigger caliber fish in smaller water! 👌🤙😁

Yep, I’m assuming from a bad previous flood! 🤷♂️ You see all kinds of stuff in the streams of PA….. generally from bad flood’s though & scum bags that litter! 🤨🤦♂️🤷♂️

I am still befuddled how these streams just seem to have big fish
@chasingthewildwithdustyrho26208 ай бұрын
Well in a number of cases I’ve edited out a fair number of the smaller fish I’d caught on those particular outings to keep the videos shorter!🤷♂️ Other cases I’m just using what bigger fish like to eat & I may have learned a thing or two over the years on how to catch big fish! 🤷♂️

How about a little more education as to how to tell the difference between the male and female brown trout. What area of PA are you fishing in and can you name some of the creeks? These are some large trout for the Big Fishing Creek area north of the Bloomsburg area where I've done most of my fishing in the past.
