Your videos are even educational because you get up close to some dangerous snakes (hence the black tailed Rattler) and they never tried to strike. Snakes only bite because they feel trapped and threatened. Love watching your videos!

I had to stop after .53 seconds and just say I love that the rattlesnake could tell you weren’t a true threat by it not rattling and how it just watched you as it slithered away in case and only rattled for a second when you got close with the camera just to let you know like hey that’s close buddy.

Undoubtedly a family of Aphonopelma species tarantula babies, cool find! Aphonopelma is the only genus of tarantula native to the States. They’re all a dirty light brown or tan colour as a rule, but males that mature and go out looking for mates are distinguishable for their dark velvety legs. Often they don’t succeed in mating, many males get run over on the highways and become arachnid roadkill. 😬

Question for you. I was recently down in Texas for a couple of months. I knew I would want to do a bit of helping but as a non-resident it was almost $50/week to get a licence and that included just to handle any animals! I went totally passive didn't touch anything. If you go as a group and let someone with a licence do the handling is it still necessary for everyone to have a licence? Seems a bit excessive.

Do y'all keep the grey banded, or let them go??
@heddabedda3063 жыл бұрын
I’m guessing let them go. Wild-caught snakes are often illegal to keep, come with parasites and diseases that cost several hundred dollars to get treated at a vet, and then they often die from the stress of transitioning to living in a box in a human house after having started in the wild. Definitely buy captive-bred animals if you’re looking for a legal pet that won’t cost you a fortune and then die on you!
