I strongly disagree. How would a company stay in business at all if they’re selling mystery boxes at equal or greater value. It’s a mystery box for a reason. It’s a gamble. I’m not debating the ethics of it, but they wouldn’t exist if everyone was losing money.

I don't know why people assumed mystery boxes are always supposed to have more value than the price paid for said mystery box. In any other outlet a mystery box can be nothing or something amazing, but not always greater than price paid for the box. I can understand if a specific seller makes promises to the buyers that their boxes will guarantee a return of greater value than the cost of the mystery box, but in general the mystery box seller needs to make money, so as long as some people get a great return and others get close to the value, then why call it a scam? If you're worried about it then maybe stop gambling on mystery boxes lol it's stupid anyways.

I think from an ethical perspective it’s fine for the mystery box to be the valued at the price you paid, solely because the nature of a mystery box is you don’t know what you’re going to get. It’s a gamble to some degree. I do think there should be an effort to push it past the value you paid but I DEFINITELY don’t think it should ever be LESS because at that point it feels like a scam. Sure it is a gamble, as I said, but these are curated boxes from real people so if it’s valued lower than the asking price, that’s a deliberate move on their part to scam somebody.

It's not really right to use retail value. Many mystery boxes are made up of clearance items. The shirt and belt are probably a size like XS that simply doesn't sell as well as other sizes.I have mixed feelings about mystery boxes. I would like to sell them, but I would not buy them.

The problem is he bases the value off of his pricing. I bought one stupidly and he said it’s guaranteed at least of $300 value and I got Dunk 1985 Barely Rose that has a sticker on it saying $275 when they’re $88 on StoxkX and only had an air freshener and a Jordan keychain as accessories 💀
