@bushwacker20483 ай бұрын
@@rumo510 shit, you don't need no pole, son. Many a decent fish has been caught with some line, a hook and an empty beer can. You just tie a knot around the can and wrap the line around it. To cast it you swing the bait around in a loop and let go, to reel it in you wrap the line back around the can. In Texas if you hire some Mexicans for work and there's a pond or creek nearby, you better believe they're gonna bust out the ol' fishing can and give it a try

@@allaboutroofing2there are limits for trout here too. I've never been aware of any limits on bream/sunfish/bluegill/crappie. You can float creeks here and go " where no man has gone before/in a very long time, and do really good. I give away what I don't eat, or throw them back. I don't like catfish. I used to give them to my mom before she passed away, she loved catfish. I like catching small mouth bass, but I always throw them back, unless they're big enough to mount. These days I stick to bream , not bass or anything like that, because it simplifies the kind of tackle/bait to carry. I need the extra room anyway for sausage biscuits and cigars. Do you have a video or short on preparing the fish to be cooked? Like the cutting and dismembering parts? I tried a few days ago and it wasn’t pretty. Or edible. I felt really bad for the fish since I didn’t even get to eat it after all that because I destroyed it. I may also need a sharper knife though.
@paulfeasal60244 ай бұрын
Get a fillet knife. Cut a line down the stomach. Pull the guts out. Wrap then in aluminum foil with butter, garlic, salt and fresh squeezed lemon juice from a lemon. You only need about half of a lemon. Forgot to say to add pepper. Then grill till golden brown hole. You could also use a cast iron skillet without the aluminum foil. Just remember to add some olive oil before frying till golden brown on each side. To totally skin it you would need to watch a video because that is more difficult and it takes practice too to get down.

Dad taught me when i was real young to keep a slice of bread handy when eating bluegill. If one of those little bones gets lodged in your throat you can tear a piece of bread from the middle of a slice and roll it up and swallow it. This techniqe can dislodge the bone and save your life. Ask me how i know. Use half corn meal half flour, season with salt pepper and paprika, chili powder if you like, all shaken into the coating. I use one egg and splash of milk for egg wash. You can filet a bluegill if you have enough because the fillets are small...but so tasty. Dip in egg wash, drop into large ziplock with the coating. Shake em all up then drop into cast iron skillet with canola or whatever your fav oil, except olive oil which will burn too quick. Dont take but a min or two soon as fhe coating is golden. Put the fish on paper towels draped over a paper plate. Dont forget the salt! Time to eat! For me bluegill is the only fish I don't even crave tartar sauce with, just straight up tender moist but firm enough to be the perfect bite...one after another.

I believe studies have shown on rainbow trout. That slower, moving water actually does make them expend more energy because they have to use more muscles within the body versus faster. Moving water, which they can basically use it like a bird. And glide to stay in one spot using they're fins
