This is the reason why other Redbubble youtubers I follow don't show their Redbubble stores. Unfortunately there are so many copycats out there and its very easy for them to do on Redbubble. This is why I left the Redbubble FB group, the amount of copycats there was unreal.

I'm just starting up on RedBubble and I'm really concerned. It's not right that RedBubble allow people to copy other artists. Is there no way that they can detect that an image has already been uploaded? Surely an algorithm could detect that? I think it's terrible that Alexandra has to go to this effort to stop people copying her. And she gives so much to the community as well. Report them Alexandra!!

Pretty sure it’s bots that people set up. Most of the time they’re in different countries as well. My designs are in Vietnam and Indonesia online stores. Gotta love it.

Great reminder to keep an eye out. I do a google search regularly also and then look at the shopping tab to see if anything is being ripped off to other sites like TeePublic and Etsy.

I do this also. Teepublic is great because it has its own built-in art checker that allows you to click on any of your uploaded artwork and it will see if it has been copied anywhere on the internet.

I haven't got enough faces and palms to express my reaction! HOW stupid can a person be to put another person's NAME in the article name? Jayses, unbelievable! *shakes head* Sure, there are many (for example) ocean designs, and many very similar, out there, and often even free to use commercially offered by some websites and programmes. But to use another seller's name or shop name? Gawd, the mind boggles!

I'm glad you've catching those scammers & Redbubble takes care of it quickly. I've had really bad experience with Redbubble today because someone wrongfully reported that I have "violated her rights" & five of mine designes got removed. I've uploaded photos of my yawning cat with some phrases I've made up. I've checked if anyone came up with similar idea, but found nothing even close. I've checked all of that woman's designs today & it took me a while because she has almost 3K of them. The only thing we have in common is love for our Tuxedo cats. None of my designs look anything like hers so I must have runned in to some troll who is afraid of a little bit of competition because my cat is cuter than hers. I've been on Redbubble for about a month, sold nothing yet and some evil greedy individual is trying to hurt me already. I've sent a request for a proof, I'd like to see in what way I've violated her rights. I was excited about Redbubble, now I'm disappointed.

isnt that strange how only on rb people can easily copy others works and how they know which are selling good and how they go without any consequence? too strange and too much hustle... i do not recommend rb for anything serious. maybe for something unimportant.

Hi, I’m in my 70’s and I love to learn digital art designs, it’s a challenge,but rewarding when you create. My daughter has a Redbubble account. I wanted her to use my design for her store. Mostly because I wanted to buy and wear the t-shirt. After my design was uploaded onto her site I ordered a t-shirt for myself. Then I found that two people stole my design . Needless to say I was heartbroken. It took me a long time to create it from scratch on Affinity Designer. Since then my daughter showed me how to make my own store. But I don’t want to spend a couple days creating then have someone steal it within seconds.

You should sue them and prove that you're the original creator with the date you created the design.. This will affect their business and in turn, get their account suspended.

Hey Alexandra! Interesting to see, thanks for making this video! You can speed up this process, use ctrl+f to search for alexandra and scan the titles of the designs. In google you can do reverse image search to get all the links to pages with a certain image.

I am pretty sure some of this is happening due to them using Redbubble tag generator. The thing is they are lame and don't look through their tags/keywords and remove the ones that are not relevant to their design. I checked for copycats and found more than I had hoped to see. I will be reporting them as well. Furthermore, I put the work in, so should they. It is not just enough to toss up a design without the research.

Exactly, people would rather steal! I’m in my 70’s and learning Affinity Designer, it takes me days to create from scratch. I work hard for my design. It’s such a feeling of accomplishment. But, to have it stolen is so heartbreaking.

Another quick tip when searching is sort by newest. Esspecially if you do it regularly it's easy to spot the scammers & new bot accounts.

Thats such a shame, this is single handedly why I hate Red bubble lots of people copy designs if others and when they realise they are original they start to copy others. You should water mark your images alex. Dont know if u already done that or not

if the design is too simple or its free on another website some of the persons might have thought of or coincidentally have the same as you. If you checking to see if a part of your picture is being used screenshot make it into a layer, lay yours on top, and bring down the opacity. If it matches up then you know they copy your picture. Hope that will help. Did you check to see if that person also was using a full shot of your picture too? Is sad that people copy things. Also, check outside of Redbubble for copy cats. You be surprised how many you could find.

Hi! ive been watching your videos bc ive been considering starting on redbubble ! I was wondering if when you started you registered as a business or if you didnt do that till later on in the process/ if at all. i want to try it out but dont know if I want to fully commit to keeping up with it. there is literally NO information on the business aspect of things and if its necessary if you want to try it out and then call it a business in the future. Make sure you are using the watermark settings. There is no guarantee that your work won't be copied but this does help.

Can you do a video/updated video about the print quality of Redbubble? I hear the quality of t-shirts and print is very low and I just opened my shop. I'm scared people won't want to buy from me anymore and I literally just started

Nobody responded to you, but I'm going to give you a short an obvious conclusion. If the prints were quality, 30 million customers would not shop on it. The fear you had 2 months ago was of uncertainty, not the quality of the shirts. Paralysis by Analysis. "Is the quality good?" is a questioned already answered by their business existence. Nobody is buying crap quality items in the millions. Shirts and stickers sell the most on Redbubble. Starting and posting is free, there's no harm in starting. Redbubble also do the customer service part so you won't even see complaints. YOU must upload good quality designs, learn how to tag, be consistent and find any tricks and tips along the way. That's it, don't over think it.
