Carp fishing is underrated. The other day the bass weren’t biting so i decided to buy some corn and some small hooks and boy do they put up a fight on a light rod. Sweet vid Chris you’re probably part of a small group of people that have caught fish when the river is dyed lol

@Heisenbrick3 жыл бұрын
I did some research, is it true the Chicago mayor decided to die the river green for St. Patrick’s Day? Is it something they do every year? We don’t have water like that Florida, however I have seen water like that in Peru at 12,000 above sea level, but it was green because of the copper content.

The river looks bluer/turquoise near the lake. It changes color as it reaches the north and south river branch. So in Downtown it never looks brown

isnt it illegal to release the carp when killing them? In michigan, you must kill any invasive fish caught
@brendanspencer25503 жыл бұрын
Common carp are naturalized in most rivers and watersheds.
@AidanMC19953 жыл бұрын
@@brendanspencer2550 I see. After a quick Google, I think I was confusing the carp in this video with Asian carp. In Michigan you're required to kill Asian carp, the I personally didn't know how to identify the difference between Asian carp and common carp until today

I dont think ur doing anything wrong. So far so good. Corn is best bait for carp. Carp is a hit or miss, unless you have good spots where the bite is good. But man they give the best fight out of all freshwater fish imo. All waiting game. Probably too much waiting for the average angler. Fished carp all my life and love it.

Carp arent fished for often so they dont see many hooks. So in america you can catch carp on hook corn and 50lb braid and theyll usually still eat. Especially in the chicago river lol
