I am enjoying your videos so much Mr. Pump sir! I made the move from Florida to Toronto and felt quite lost fishing up here and quite depressed about not having the ocean anymore but seeing the steelhead and pike you catch breathes life into me. Get out there and make some casts. Just make sure you look up the regs before you start. Fishing can be tough at times but can be very rewarding.

Daniel Kavanagh you will need to learn ice fishing up here in Simcoe too. The ice opens up extra opportunities if you don't have a boat and it is a tonne of fun.

Yup, that happens a lot. That's pike fishing, you can't catch them all.

Part of the lake-bottom right there is in fact the roof of an underground (underwater?) parking garage for the yacht club. The heat from the garage warms that area up just a bit more than others but still provides deep water. The pike key in on that in the cold water months.

Hey there. Just love watching your videos. I hope to one day catch a pike or bass. I'm a newbie, but still having fun. Can pike be caught at this time of the year? Is Ashbridges marina lagoon any good? Could you recommend a spot for me to try? Thanks.

Ian Adair Ashbridges will have pike all year round. Try casting along the weed edges with jerkbaits, spoons and spinners. If their are lots of weeds try something that’s weedless like a spinnerbait

Nice catches Pump! Looked like a nice Sunny day. Mother Nature has been indecisive this year :) I find sight fishing for pike a real good way to learn about how pike react and how your lure moves, suspends, etc. It definitely gets the heart pumping when it finally turns it's head and starts to follow......then SMASH. Nothing like it. Real exciting. Tight lines.

Have you ever pulled the lure out of the fishes mouth because you got too excited when you saw the fish open its mouth? I have...haha

PUMP KNOWS FISHING Haha. Haven't done that. I've hit the fish in the noise with a jerk bait though. Pike came noise to noise with the lure basically almost touching it while paused, so I gave it a twitch and the lure swung around and hit it in the face spooking the fish. Exciting nonetheless!

Which jerkbait do you prefer? The xrap or husky jerk?

I like using both but I find the xrap will cast a lot better then the HJ

thanks! what colors and sizes do you recommend for pike? I like that they have two treble hooks instead of three. The HJ12 and 14 have been a PITA to unhook and I'm looking for something new.
