I love hitting the local rivers for pre spawn smallies and greenbacks. No better time to fish. I went this morning and caught the river just as it was rising. U talk about a chaotic frenzy!!! I got my line snapped in the riffles twice. I was using 5 inch swimbaits and 5 inch hellgramites. I caught over 50 fish in just a little over 2 hours. We're blessed to live in a state that has so so many amazing fisheries!!!

I only fished that lake one time. And I was using a pig and gig not far from the dam. And I slayed the small mouth. My favorite lake besides this one: is Cherokee Lake at Poor Valley. I caught 21 Largemouth there one day. The place between my ring finger and my pinky finger was sore for 2 days from jerking the fishing rod so many times.

How about you address the mercury contamination issues in Kentucky? Or is that just published in the state fishing guide to deter people from catching fish?
@bradleyrussell19733 жыл бұрын
Conspiracy theorizing much?? Mercury is a HEAVY METAL, therefore only found in the belly tissue of bottom feeding fish, and the fish that eat them. The quantity found in ANY river system is extremely small, and as long as folks stay within guidelines for consumption on these waters, no problems will show. Furthermore, mercury is ONLY found in rivers that were once used for commercial logging and log transporting. It was a treatment to keep the oak from staining. We know now that water itself achieves that goal. We dont use mercury anymore for this. It’s use today for any purpose, is almost non-existing. Our dept. is well on top of their game.
