Catching Brown Trout in Colorado River | Hot Sulphur Springs Camping

Welcome back to High-End Trout Fishing! Join us on this exciting journey to Hot Sulphur Springs. We spent a night under the stars at a local campsite, nestled amongst the sounds of the wilderness and the occasional thunderstorm for company.
This trip was a two-day adventure, from the 1st to the 2nd of August, 2023. The weather provided an interesting mix, with thunderstorms on the first day and a bright, sunny day on the second - perfect for fishing at the Colorado River.
Our gear included the ultra-light Tenryu Rayz RZ53UL-BC Baitcasting Rod, Daiwa Alphas Air Stream Custom reel, Power Pro Super 8 Slick Braid Line (10lb), and Seguar STS Flouro Carbon Leader (4lb). With this high-end equipment, we managed to catch eight beautiful brown trouts, an experience every fishing enthusiast would love to have.

You are in some of my stomping grounds, fished Williams Fork, Blue Mountain Reservoir, and the rivers down to Lake Dillon, for decades, nice Artic Char om the rocky slopes by the dam! Great times, even picked up a 1952 Ford truck in hot sulphur springs, 22 years ago and it is still on the road, enjoy!

If you're into nature, definitely visit the Garden of the Gods for some stunning rock formations. Pikes Peak offers breathtaking views and is definitely worth the drive or hike. If fishing is on your agenda, the Arkansas River isn't too far and offers great trout fishing opportunities. Don't forget to also check out the local eateries and shops to get a full experience.
