Catching Caplin with My Dad - A Newfoundland Tradition

Hi Folks,
Each year, many Newfoundlanders flock to the local shores and beaches to marvel at the endurance of these little fish. We managed to gather a few this past weekend. The plan is to brine and then dry them. They make a great snack to take in the woods and warm over a campfire.

Great day out with your Dad Darrell, capelin definitely a bonus we had hoped to get some in Twillingate but they haven't rolled yet. That's a trail I've been wanting to do, maybe I'll have to do it for the capelin lol. Have a great Sunday my buddy.

Great video buddy , looks like you had a great day with your dad getting some Caplin . Question I hope thoes kitchen catcher bags are scent free , I know a guy lol that had a bag of Caplin and to find out the bag they were in was scented lol . Thanks for sharing and all the best
