We definitely have fun fishing! The Rods we use. Lizabella: Ugly Stick Big game surf rod, Uncle Lou Orange rod, and Ozark trail rod. Reels:Okuma Advenger and Picifun. James: Uncle Lou Orange Rod, Ugly Stick catfish rod, and Berkley glow stick. Reels: Picifun, Kastking Megatron, and sougayilang reel. All spinning reels in this setup, but we have other rods and reels we switch out.

@@KirkpatrickOutdoors thx for the info. I’ve also been hitting pretty good with jello chicken, for both carp and cats. I use some of the Okuma gear. Any pros or cons on the Picifun? Looks reasonably price.

We been using them for 6 months and no major issues yet. We own two spinning and one casting reel. I think for the price it's not a bad reel. The only thing is if you use mono 30lb or higher it won't hold much line on the spinning reels so if you fish snag areas take extra line just in case.

Thanks! And That spot is hit or miss but it's normally fire after rain. Especially the exact spot we fish at that park on the river.

Awesome catches. I do pretty good with jello chicken and channel cats. What size hooks if you don't mind me asking? I use 5/0-8/0

Thank you! We use 8/0 to 10/0 for blue and flathead and 6/0 for channel. We use the 10/0 when tossing big pieces of cut bait.
