In Louisiana we throw the fish filets in a bowl of mustard and hot sauce. Mix it all together, then batter them. Fish has a little tang and spice. The Louisiana Batter has a lot of salt in it. No need to season before.
@BostenRedSoxs344 жыл бұрын
soak them in hot sauce first, then put your fish fry in a bowl/plastic bag with your seasonings. toss the fish in the bag, make sure you get a good shake in so all the seasoning gets on the fish. then you are ready to fry

Get one bag of the yellow Louisiana fish fry and one bag of the red Louisiana fish fry and mix the two together and then pepper your milk that you dip it in before the batter. Dip in the milk then the batter then straight to the oil. Don't. worry about salt becuasethe mixture of the two fish Frys have all the sodium you need.

Nothing betterr than someone getting excited about catching a fish... Kinda like listening to kids laughing. it's just fun to see people having fun fishing. Really good that you guys can get out and get on a lake. The majority of stuff is closed down here in SWFlorida. Docks, State parks, camping fishing beach all shut down... If you have a house on the water with a boat and dock you're good to go but that's not me. Glad you got to fish. Thanks for sharing

Here's a try for your seasoning. Put a 2-1-1 ratio of Granulated garlic(2), Salt(1), and Pepper(1) in a bowl, mix it until evenly mixed, then add to a shaker you can find at any restaurant supply store (you looking for a shaker with about 20+ holes in the lid). Then evenly shake/Coat the fish. Its what we do in our restaurant. Love the content, thank you!

Walleye bites. Cut in about 1 inch cubes, dust with Louisiana fish fry, then wrap with a half strip of bacon. Put on some butter and grill on foil or in a foil pan until bacon is crisp. The regular and the crispy are both great on all sorts of fish. I like them better than Shore Lunch.

Couldn’t help but notice. You should take 20 min and level the AC condenser out. It ripping forward like that will eventually loose the oil to the evap oil and compressor won’t like that. As a AC mechanic up here in Ontario that’s a common problem I see that leads to expensive compressor change out and evap coil flushing. Just an FYI pal. Keep bassin!

Yep, Seth Gibson and myself agree. Andy's in the orange package is the Only fish breading that I use. Sometimes I will use half Andy's Red and half straight yellow corn meal when I'm cooking fish for my Mom because she doesn't like anything too strong or spicy. Even if I don't have Andy's Red I will just use seasoned yellow corn meal with salt/pepper and I don't dry my fillets before going into the corn meal, I leave them damp and it helps the breading stick to the fillets. Also have your oil hot so the fillets cook fairly quick. Good rule of thumb is 350 deg. on a deep fryer and no longer that 3 minutes and they are done. If I pan fry on top of the stove I preheat the oil on the 9 setting for electric burners and do a little test to see if it's hot enough by taking a pinch of the breading and sprinkle it in the skillet. If it starts to sizzle when it hit's the oil it's time to put your fillets in. Most people don't get their oil hot enough before putting the fillets in and end up over cooking them. I don't know if you have ever fried deer backstrap or tenderloin, but the same method applies and even when pan frying a steak. Get your skillet or pan hot first then put the fillet in, about 1 1/2 minutes on each side and they are crispy on the outside and tender flaky on the inside. Hope this all makes sense. I wish that I could fry fish for y'all and I could show you exactly how it's done here in the Southeast portion of Missouri. Loved the video BTW and taking your wife Alecia was nice, you should do that more often she's got a wonderful personality.

Jacob, put the salt in the batter, not on the fish. It brings too much of the moisture out if directly on the fillets. Also, You can bypass the salt all together if you use Mrs Dash seasoning. Amazing stuff, can get it at Wal-Mart.

Might try getting a gallon zip lock bag,, add some corn meal,, and all you seasoning you want on your fish, zip the bag and shake,, taste your mix and you'll be able to tell if to much of something or not enough,, add your fish a few fillets at a time, zip and shake till coated all over,, drop in fryer and when they float they be done,, my great grandmother taught me this and with crappie especially it's easy to over cook so again floating means done,,, my personal seasoning preference is Lawry's, cavenders, pepper, and a touch of lemon pepper,,, anyways enjoy my friend

Love all that you do. I’m from south Louisiana. The trick to Louisiana seasoned fish fry is to season only one side of the fillets then put them in a bowl and roll them around. After that place them in the fridge to chill cold fish into hot grease makes them firm. Mdj is right about rolling them in the fish fry just b4 they hit the grease. Fry them at 375 degrees bc when the fillets hit the oil it drops the temp to 350. Fry to a golden brown. Can’t go wrong.
@tracywilhite1444 жыл бұрын
