I was once walking around and got a Lapras on my insence, which was not a spawn, and it was shiny. I didn't have any ultra balls or golden razz berries, but somehow I used a great ball and got a critical capture.

What I'd like to know is how someone knows it's going to be a hundo or shundo before catching it? According to reddit it seems impossible to remember all the CP numbers without some sort of helper/app and even then you have to factor in weather boosts, etc, where the numbers would change.

This was so fun to watch, particularly *knowing* that this is what you're working toward the whole time. There's such a sense of accomplishment here, and I'd love to see you do it for subsequent generations! Drowzee is my number one coveted shiny from gen 1 that I haven't gotten yet, but I do have a trade lined up that will get me one, so I'm excited for that! Otherwise, the one I'm most after is Staryu.

Im still missing some of Gen 1. Don't have Shiny Mankey, Primeape, Seaking, and Tauros. I'm also missing a few for the Shiny living dex.
