@RKJFishing Жыл бұрын
They are a pretty good eating fish apparently, but they are completely protected in NSW except for a few stocked dams. In northern Victoria you can keep them over 30cm from lakes and impoundments, but they have to be returned if it's a flowing waterway. South of the Great Dividing Range there are different rules but I'm not familiar with them as I don't fish there

Hi Rohan, Was just wondering how you differentiate between Silver perch and Macquarie perch. I catch a few fish in the Yarra river that I believe are Maccas, but am not 100% certain. The VFA app doesn't give a good description of either. Is there any difference in body parts like nose, fins, tail eye colouring. Obviously the colour of the fish can be altered by its environment, so that's not a tell tale. Keep up the good videos, Dave. P.S. My daughter has the same orange Shakespeare rod as you.
@RKJFishing Жыл бұрын
Haha that's awesome, that rod has served me very well. I've actually never caught a macca! They do look very similar don't they. By the look of it Silver's have smaller scales, and Maccas have a larger 'hump' on their back. That's about all I know! Sorry I can't help more
