Great session Rohan! Very entertaining to watch. I don't agree with those cynical scientists that fishos make no difference to carp numbers...you pulled out abput 10 ...that's 10 less mouths for that river to feed plus the millions of potential Carp you've stopped from those ones breeding. Good job.
@RKJFishing11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Chris. Yeah I reckon you're right it does make a difference, even if it's just a small difference it's still a very good thing to remove as many as we can

Nice. Those carp did put up a good fight. I went out for a quick drive to check out the Campaspe at Elmore on the weekend and can see why you caught a few carp. There were carp feeding on the surface everywhere
@RKJFishing11 ай бұрын
Thanks Brenton, yeah they are going nuts around here at the moment, we had a huge spawn of furry caterpillars around the area this year and heaps are falling in from the trees, and the carp are happily swimming around sucking them all off the surface of the water lol. I reckon fly fishermen would have a field day on them at the moment
@bushfishncook212811 ай бұрын
@@RKJFishingneed to get Robbie onto it I reckon That would make a great video seeing Robbie chase carp on fly You could try a weightless soft plastic if you have something that looks anything like the caterpillars 👍 In open space they are great fun on 4lb ultralight gear and that will allow you to throw weightless plastics 👍🎣

Hey Rohan, absolute carp madness great job. It looks like you are using mono on the rods, Have you ever used braid for bait fishing, and woud you ?
@RKJFishing11 ай бұрын
Thanks heaps Phil. I have tried using braid for bait fishing but I prefer mono as it gives me a bit of stretch for those big carp. I find 10lb mono is light enough that I can fight them effectively while still giving them a bit of room to have a run and make it fun to fight them, and the stretch gives a bit of leeway in case they pull too hard
