I ran out of worms once (had accidentally grabbed an old punnet with mostly dead worms) and put the dirt from the punnet in my bait catcher and it worked. Once used a lug nut as a sinker, necessity is the mother of invention. A friend uses only nuts instead of lead as sinkers and they work well too. I saw the same guy catch a yellow belly with a piece of tin foil on a hook when we ran out of bait. Cheers

I fish either superlight or heavy. A tiny split shot is a great slow sinking rig. And a big hook with a big chunk of fish and a sinker is a great heavy rig. A branchy tree in the water is my go to shrimp spot. There will also be fish in the area.

@MarkThornton1Ай бұрын
Please, please, please Robbie - Get yourself some "baitrunner" style reels. It saves your rods being pulled in & being broken off on the 1st strike. The rear drag prevents it, as it allows line to spool out at whatever tension you set. As soon as you turn the reel handle, it reverts to the front drag.

Great video mate, that fly scene LOL!! If I ever get down around your way would be awesome to go for a flick around one of these rivers, some nice looking spots that seem to be pretty active. Why is fishing un-waited better ? Just curious as I’m new
@robbiefishingАй бұрын
Hi mate, I just think it's easier to trick the fish to take the bait if they don't feel the weight of the sinker.
@tropic286029 күн бұрын
@ hey mate, ahh thanks that makes sense 🔥
@redtobertshateshandlesКүн бұрын
1: The bait slowly falling is searching the whole depth of water. 2: Sinkers make a huge noise as they hit the water. 3: More time for the fish to see the bait and bite. 4: The bottom is only one of the places fish find food. 5: What worm or other bait plummets to the bottom. It's unnatural. Fish know that they can't catch it. 6: what Robbie said. Fish suck the bait into their mouths. A heavy sinker isn't helping you.
