If you don’t live too far, Lake Shelbyville walleye/sauger have been very good thus far, aggressive bite is only about an hour or two long right at sunrise (probably again at sunset) but in two days between 2 guys casting 8-15 foot cranks, we boated 20 (12 keepers) fishing 5 am to 7:30 and then leaving. During the day you can drift flats or spider rig cranks in 15-20 ft and pick up crappie, white bass and walleye.

"You're takin' them all".... and then you throw the fish back??? You are one crazy fisherman.... haha I've never seen a guy who throws back as many fish as you do Stu. :-)

Did you know Regardless and irregardless, just like flammable and inflammable mean the same thing? I learned that last one the hard way!

How are you rigged on your down rods? Wondering how much weight it would take to keep your line near vertical as you drift with the current.
@totalanglingexperience34933 жыл бұрын
Depends on current. Usually 1-2 lbs

@@totalanglingexperience3493 I live by KCI airport. We have plenty of wing dams and fast current on the Missouri around here. I suspend on lakes so I figured it would be possible on the river.

I know you've said it before but what kind of line counter reel are you running on your bumping rod?
@camrot06ify3 жыл бұрын
What's the max height of waves do you feel comfortable goin out in with that boat.
@totalanglingexperience34933 жыл бұрын
Fishing in and running in are two very different things. I’ve ran this boat in legit 6-7 footers up in Canada. But have no problems drifting or trolling in 3 footers anything bigger than that it’s to windy and not much fun

@@totalanglingexperience3493 Thats a pretty sturdy boat we take 20ft tracker out on erie walleye fishing but it's definitely not made for it as soon as we start seeing 3 to 4 footers we are out of there.

Great video! Good advice on the boat size talk for down there. I’ve always wanted to go fish downtown because of the great chance of catching 20+# fish. Unfortunately, my 18’ Sea Ark will stay above the Melvin Price Dam. Keep up the great videos!

What ramp do you put in at to fish near downtown? I have a 2025 Lund Impact XS, been wanting to get out on the Mississippi since I live here in STL. Been a little nervous getting on the big river.

My 8-year-old is a fish eating kid. I spent the entire video explaining to him that you don't have to eat every fish you catch. It was quite the conversation ,he was pretty pissed 😂😂😂

Your right you have to be careful in rough water I have been out in 2 or 2 and half swells in a 14ft 4in boat with a 30hp on the back and to be all honest I was a idiot for going to that spot but with the knowledge I have I made it back safely I have also been out enough times to know the difference between wave chop and swells but a video on how to handle a boat in some rougher conditions would be a great ideal

Gosh man the last time I was in the city was a few months back when I was burying my great-grandma. Damn near got shot by some moron on the side of the highway who got out of his vehicle and started putting rounds into it right as we were driving past. I’d imagine that he was shooting at someone inside but whatever. I had body armor and an AR pistol with me, anyway. I hate STL. Don’t live too terribly far away though let me know if you want to hang out and shoot or something, for what it’s worth. Nice fishin! My buddy has a pond and it’s always a good time to fish out of it. Super impressed with your boat and video quality.
