hey, Im from thunder bay ontario, if you dont mind me asking where on lake superior are steelhead still in streams? Do you thing the nipigon river will have steelhead?

This was from a Wisconsin tributary from before our season closed. I haven't fished the Nipigon River before. The steelhead run on the MN north shore is in the spring so I'd assume there aren't unless they winter over in the bigger rivers

what leader and tippet size?

7.5' 0x nylon tapered leader. 1x flouro to the first fly and 2x flouro to the dropper

Can you describe your rod/reel/line setup

I'm using a 10' 7wt Orvis Clearwater rod with an Orvis Mirage LT 7/8 Reel. Line is Scientific Angler's Anadro (mastery series) in 7wt. I really like the 10' rod for mending and the Anadro has a nice long belly that allows for mending at greater distances.

All to yourself is the best part - Erie is non stop crowds even in the winter . Nice fish !
