So with trout (at least irl) you want to use a spinner bait (like a spoon, or Inline spinner) let it sink to the bottom then reel it in consistent and fast! I’ve had many many strikes with this method. They’re the most fun with light rods. Tight lines Drae 🤟🏻

@@tristonjohnson8095 Yeah definitely, I love fishing bull sharks in Australia, and although we have trout, carp, bass and catfish, which are popular species in the US, we don't have the fishing population we used to, 20 years ago I went fishing with my dad a fair amount, we always caught and released unless it was a bream (because there are countless of them, and even then, we'd take one home to eat) but these days, it's either bull shark, sting ray, bream, jew fish (If you're lucky) flathead and eel. Gone are the days of fish stocks in our estuaries (at least shore-fishing). A large amount of the problem is that we don't have properly established fisheries (The people that police what you can and can't catch) in all my times fishing, I've seen them once, yet I've seen many people who don't understand the rules and regulations (or flat out don't care) take way too many fish/pippies which has caused a bit of an ecological disaster in our riverways. Hence, why I want an Australian fishing game, we have a large diversity of species, just not the stock to morally catch them.

I am just praying that they add saltwater fishing and trolling both are concepts that have not been touched and would be absolutely awesome to see in this game I’ve caught so many bluegill and bass in games like these even from rapala games back in the day please do something different from everything else, not hating on this game in the least I’m too excited to play but I’m hoping they string off from literally every other fishing game on this planet.

The heightmap quality and size (resolution) Avalanche Studios are using in the Call of the wild games are so much more close to real scale then almost any other game then Arma and Dayz. Pluss other games i might not know about! The landscape artists in Avalanche are the best og the best! I would be honored to someday work there my self :)

On the pearl barley or bread bait choice; those were both grains still hehe. Barley can actually be made into breads even, tho usually we make wheat based breads, so potentially this cud be the same bait even just in diff forms; one as baked barley bread which mimicks the bread humans are likely to feed them at some pt in their lives and one as the split grains mimickin the way theyd likely find such grain in water where it wudve begun to germinate bcuz of the wet envrionment and end up becomin perfect food for fisheys.

Actually, cookin the fish is expressly forbidden bcuz its seen as litterin or even toxic waste disposal to release fish and chips back into the water after eatin them; and sadly its mandatory to release the fish in this game

I wonder if the game has any short of overfishing mechanics to keep you from always going to the same place, i know a single angler overfishing an area is a bit unrealistic but there should be something that keeps from always using the same spot, sort of like hunting pressure in COTW, plus I find that fishing the same area during a whole day should drain it a bit
