Catching my FIRST EVER Shiny Pokémon! - DripDrop

New subscriber here! The first pokémon game I played was pokémon sapphire then pokémon silver (somehow lost it while moving to a different house). I remember catching my first shiny in Pokémon black then soon after a few others.

Losing games is like a phobia of mine, absolutely has happened to me in the past and I take extensive measures to ensure it doesn’t happen in the future. 🤣 What are your thoughts on Sapphire now, with all the games after? And who was your first shiny, if you remember?

@@dripdropyt No problem, I liked Sapphire and I haven't put much thought in it 😅. I honestly don't remember what my first shiny was because that was 10 years ago. I'm guessing it was patrat.

First Pokemon game I played was Gold (Generation 2) so for my 24th birthday, my brother hunted down and bought me a physical copy of HeartGold (Generation 4). My first shiny was in Y (Generation 6) which was a Boldore :) ...my 3DS battery died when I was trying to catch it. What's worse is that that out of almost (at that time) 15 years playing Pokemon, I never ran into a shiny before that moment.

Gen 2 seems to be the favorite for most people’s first, absolute nostalgia for sure. Missing out on a shiny Boldore is ROUGH, the shiny is such a cool color! I had a similar thing happen, since I got Y digitally and didn’t have a big enough SD card, I got an extra one for cheap. Then my 3DS stopped charging. You can’t transfer data from multiple SD cards to a new 3DS. 🤣 I had the event Torchic and Blazikenite on that save too. Keep hunting! I’ve been playing since around 2005-2006, so about 19 years to encounter my first shiny. 😂

Got me a shiny chimchar from the brief case I think the color in game looks good its a noticable contrast from the bright orange

As much as I dislike the shiny, that’s awesome. Getting a shiny is cool in and of itself, but a shiny starter at random is just the coolest. Take that little dude to the top, let the world know that you’re the champion with the coolest Infernape in the world!

Ill never forget my first shiny, was a machop on firered like 16 or 17 years ago inbetween vermillion city and that big cave route, had no clue what a shiny was but caught it anyway and kept him in my party the rest of my play through. Dont think i even learned what a shiny was until i played emerald years later lol

Machop for a first shiny is absolutely sick, one of the OG 151 and one of the best fighting types? Yes please!
