The reason why we have 6 Pokemons in a team and only 5 Pals, is because the Pal player themselves is the final member. Even when they beat 5 pals, they still have to deal with rocket launcher and a player that has dodging skill of a dark souls player lol

Palworld has a lot of Dark Souls vibes when you have to defeat the tower bosses for the second time, they don't stop attacking, they move very fast and have more life and defense, I'm at my maximum level, with many perfectly raised Pals and I can still die 4 or 5 hits.

I absolutely ADORE the details in the Anubis and Lucario fight! Lucario seems to be using some form of Kickboxing stance for most of his moves and he's constantly keeping an arm near his head as part of his quick jabs. Anubis meanwhile is mixing in open palm strikes with his punches and uses several sweeping kicks throughout. He also tries to redirect some of Lucario's punches instead of outright blocking them and, when Lucario breaks their stalemate with his kicks, he tries to recover by performing another kick that's utilising the added momentum from him reeling due to the aforementioned strikes. I don't know exactly what hsi fighting style is based off but it's hella cool! The amount of detail with those two is absolutely incredible! I also get the feeling that they'd be on friendly terms if it weren't for their trainers.

Pretty spot on, I made Lucario do kickboxing/ Muay Thai as its the martial art I practiced for a few years (with a few extra flashy moves thrown in for good measure). Anubis was sort of inspired by wing chun mixed with taekwondo kicks. I never seriously practiced either, but i was watching Ip man at the time and it looked cool so I kind of just used inspiration from that and made it up in response to Lucario's attacks :p

I’m from Japan. This animation is fantastic! I’m very impressed! Palworld is also made by Pocket Pair in Japan, but in Japan, Pokemon is so ingrained in the culture that people get angry at them for cultural theft and don't even play Palworld without trying to understand the actual game content properly. I learned well from BDSP and SV of Pokemon Inc. Their business style is the worst and they take the stance that they’ll release a new game every year even at the expense of quality. I hope this fiasco will improve the Pokemon games. If not, I’m going to give up on Pokemon.

Same, but that’s because I haven’t owned a Nintendo system of any kind since the early 90’s. And at this point, I can’t justify spending almost $300 to play a single copy-pasted Pokemon game that I will get bored and frustrated with not even a quarter of the way in. I’ve come to realize that I despise games that require extensive grinding and that’s almost all of what Pokemon is. At least in Palworld the spheres I throw out like a maniac (Vixy ranch ftw) will gain me something, even if what I catch is trash. Grinding is largely passive and I can read or take care of things outside the game while my crafted stuff is on the make. As a note, I learned what playing Pokemon would be like from playing Pixelmon, EvoCreo, and Temtem. None of which I finished

lucario anubis fight got more development than entire anime lol “use high jump kick” immediately followed by three kicks, right hook, then left uppercut. *scuffle scuffle* into second impact. lucario goes for same combo again. I THOUGHT this was kinda lazy. UNTIL anubis realizes he’s seen those first three kicks before, adapts by attempting to kick him out of the coming right hook. successful at stopping the right hook, but lucario reads the read and catches the kick then continues the onslaught into the final impact hit. I swear this amount of detail in that fight goes waaaaay beyond my expectations.

An addendum: Behavior-wise, I think Elphidran would have been a closer equivalent to Dragonite, given they’re both kindhearted dragons that fly and shoot Hyper Beams (or Palworld’s equivalent, Pal Blasts), though Elphidran’s flight speed in Palworld is less than impressive, whereas in Scarlet/Violet, wild Dragonite will absolutely bolt in your direction to where if they didn’t suddenly stop due to game mechanics, they’d yeet the player a good several meters. It doesn’t help that I love both ‘mons, and I especially think Elphidran’s under-appreciated. While Quivern has better all-around stats, Elphidran naturally learns better moves, like Flare Arrow that guarantees burning should all 3 projectiles hit, or Pal Blast where… do I even need to explain? In short, while more people may know about Bellossum, I think Elphidran would have been a closer match between the two.

I’m a fan of Pokemon since the very first Red and Blue/Green and over the years I’ve developed an immense fondness for the Dragon, Water, Fire and Flying types. Squirtle was my first ever Pokemon and Dragonite/Nair/Nite was my first dragon type. Of course I only started playing Palworld a couple days ago. I’m still palling around with my Chillet, the one that looks like a Prinplup and the fire fox along with several others. I literally unlocked the saddle for the first flyer minutes before logging off. Anyway I will watch for Elphidran. It sounds like a species I’ll enjoy.

When compared directly like this, it really does showcase the intended audience differences. Pokemon is a kid friendly game while PalWorld is Pokemon without the age restriction. Because in reality, Pokemon is fighting for sport which has rules, while PalWorld is fighitng for survival and all is fair there.

It'll never happen. Most of the people who do these animations are Palworld fans, and Palworld is hard carried by it's two main gimmicks of the trainer also fighting and the use of modern weaponry by both trainer and monster. Without those two elements, it's setting and monsters are actually weaker than Pokemon's in general, so it's fans will almost never do an actual straight fight in these kinds of animations.

@OmniGman 90+% of Pals don't have modern weaponry to use, a player's weapons are outclassed by Pal skills (otherwise bolstered by them), and Pals are in no way weaker than Pokemon, given their whole lives are spent either fighting one another or struggling to survive their environments/predators, otherwise juiced up with the consciousnesses and souls of other Pals. Pokemon's only claim over them is the sometimes reality-bending nature of their capabilities, readily-available healing items and temporary boosters, and the various power-boost gimmicks of the different regions.
