Carlton Hill, what a brilliant place to enjoy angling. The Wires must hold the best Tench in Cumbria. Lovely venue.

Good video Rob. One of my favourite types of fishing. I've had good days fishing with mags but most of the time I find casters are much better feeding 3 - 5 casters 3 to 4 times a minute with a caster on a 18 or 16 guru f1 pellet hook. I only break down on the better fish which I find quicker plus saves from wear on the joints. Have you tried casters on this water ?

It’s at the southern end of Carlisle, just off the A6 close to Cote Hill. There’s a pond called the wires, it has solid Tench.

Your catch rate may have been effected by no keepnet, roach are pains for going back into the shoul and acting strange
