Excellent video it's such a shame newcomers to angling are so obsessed with bigger and more carp that this sort of fishing doesn't appeal to allot of anglers. I think roach fishing is the most challenging and technical discipline of coarse fishing. They simply won't fall for a badly presented bait in any numbers and a 1lb roach is a stunningly beautiful fish.

I can relate to the dendrobaena worms. Ultralight lure fishing is my sport of choice, and even though I am not targeting roach specifically, I do catch my fair share of canal roach from the margin right under my feet when I use passive soft plastic baits such as the LRF Japanese Pin Worms that really do look ultra realistic in the water. Funnily enough, when I am fishing the canal margin in this way I do use a small 2 metre whip rather than a rod/reel to jig the soft plastic in the margin and it works a treat. I love catching silver fish on lures and it makes a pleasant change from the perch and jack pike I usually catch.
