Its funny that I never fished this lake until this year! Ive caught a couple that were 5 pounders there in the spring. A lot of fun for sure!

Hey man, good luck out there! I havent been to Loon this year but usually they are up shallow this time of year, i like to fish docks THOUROGLY with jigs and senkos. I also like to target any grass with swim jigs this time of year as well!

Great video bro ! Love watching folks like you guys just out having a good time and tossing them back for the next time or next guy . I moved up here 2 years ago and been fishing banks lake even though loon lake is 2 min from me . No boat yet and didn’t see lot shore line to fish but hoping next year I can get out on the water . Your vid gets me excited I love Bass fishing . You guys ever catch any good size small mouth in that lake ?

I appreciate it man! Thats what its all about. I just like to catch, photo and release. Banks has some decent shore fishing from what i understand but i dont make it that way too often. I dont catch smallies out of loon lake very often but i have caught some decent ones in there. Long lake is where I go to target smallies. They have some absolute giants in Long man. Ive caught 2 over 6 in there and many over 4.

before i had a boat all i did was fish from the bank. I dont have much experience from the bank here in Washington unfortunately. That is a good video idea that i will keep in mind!

I held the trout under the gill plate and I never hold bass by their gill plate as they dont have teeth like a native trout. I should have just held it by the tail and left it in the water but the heat of the moment didnt allow that to happen. As for the fish dying, I cant confirm or deny its death but I am much more conscious now.

thank you for the respectful reply and willingness to adapt how you handle fish. bass you can hold by the lip, but trout should be supported under the belly and by the tail. the trouts gill plate is extremely prone to infection and the body can not support the weight when help by the gill or the mouth (unless its a very small trout then they can hang by a hook in the mouth). also, for a planned release its important to wet your hands to prevent the protective slime on the body rubbing off (this slime also prevents infection). I have no issues with keeping legal trout, I just like to see them have a good chance of surviing the human encounter! cheers and good luck on your next trip. if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
