@artistjoh3 жыл бұрын
This video is probably filmed too far west or south for either of the taipan species. This snake catcher would only have access to the snakes found in his region. The Coastal Taipan (generally thought to be the third deadliest in the world) is from the eastern and northern coasts. The Inland Taipan (also called the Western Taipan) (and the one that is the world’s deadliest) is mostly found in central and northern Queensland.

Leave the snake alone or call a snake catcher it's not that hard and you can go to jail or get a large fine in the thousands for killing snakes, there is a dangerous risk of being bitten anti-venom is extremely expensive and snakes are very beneficial and control invasive rat populations
@125sloth4 жыл бұрын
At least all this was done with common sense and safety in mind, unlike stupid ego driven Steve Irwin who antagonsed reptiles for the camera, and did the same with certain fish, which brought about his own demise in the end. I would not wish what happened to Irwin on him or his family, but when you annoy any animal, reptile or even a stingray, to big note yourself for the camera, the reality is that at some stage the "object" that is being annoyed is going to defend itself.
@herveybaysnakecatchers3 жыл бұрын
Steve Irwin did heaps for conservation and education about snakes. Snakes are tough, they can handle a little antagonism, they're built for it he never harmed any of them. He inspired people like my self to protect them and his work continues through myself and many others. He wasn't ego driven he was driven by his love and passion for animals.
@125sloth3 жыл бұрын
@@herveybaysnakecatchers We shall agree to disagree. The whole Irwin "empire" was overseen by his wife, and the staff turnover at Australia Zoo, including vets, is ridiculous. And don't get me started on Bindi and Bob and how they have been "programmed". . I feel sorry for Irwins father. If it wasn't for him starting the business, the rest of the family would not be where they are today. Anyway as I said, we shall agree to disagree. And it's a shame that Steve Irwin had no idea about workplace and safety legislation when a croc bit one of his staff, fortunately minor, but the laws apply to all workplaces.
@jaxr29583 жыл бұрын
Maybe the end justifies the means. Steve's 'go big' approach made environmentalism trendy with people by making it entertaining. People who previously were buying action figures of wrestlers started buying action figures of environmentalists and their animals. And sure he used to treat wild animals with the familiarity of the family dog and that may have been confronting for them. But I also think that was because he was just as much a part of their 'society' as he was ours. The simple reality is without Irwin and his family, there would be less people open to and aware of climate and environmental problems.
