Perch was my first fish caught float fishing with my dad, and it has held a very special place in my heart ever since. I love my lure fishing and have caught my PB of 3lb 2ozs on the dropshot just like you wre using in the video, so keep trying and you never know what you might catch
@leftmono1016 Жыл бұрын
My pb exactly the same as yours! But caught on a 5 inch shad, 5/0 hook meant for pike. Next cast a 1lb perch took the same lure, very greedy.

Perch - from the Trent -Mersey canal , and it was not normal colours , it was some kind of albino as it was pale goldfish colour , eventually caught one the right colour , Mr Crabtree goes fishing book had a brilliant drawing of parch , fished for them ever since , small perch were easy to catch when I was a boy , not so many about now it seems .

Blimey....My first fish was a Gudgeon back late '60's/ early '70's as a little kid 7/8 years old from the Nene in the centre of Peterborough....it was my late mother who taught me about fishing weirdly enough....she had an old split cane rod kicking around etc....I've recently taken it up again after a dozen years off....and I've had a few Perch and very small Pike on small lures....including a Scorpion one.... Good giggle....enjoyed that....Looks like I'll have to introduce my good lady (who's never fished before) to the humble Perch....

Great to hear you’ve come back to fishing again. The Gudgeon was a first fish for many of us 🙂 great memories. Yes definitely introduce her to a few perch 🎣

Cant remember the small details. But i remember i started fishing in the early or mid 90s when I was around 10 or 11. Family friend took me out on the River Lea and set me up with a pole. caught the usual bag of silvers - roach, dace, rudd etc etc. I wouldnt say i loved fishing but I very much enjoyed it but it wasnt till the same family friend took me dead baiting for pike that i really started to love it more and back in those days it wasnt uncommon to end the session with at least 4 or 5 (or even more!) decent pike. Shame Millie didnt hook into a pike. I know they are a very big fans of the spikey shad as I seem to catch a lot of them when out targeting the perch.

Greetings from across the pond. These canals I keep seeing, on your channel, the Ginger Fisherman....are these canals all over England, or are they concentrated in a particular region?
@FoxRageTV Жыл бұрын
Greetings 🙂 We have canals pretty much all over and they generally offer great fishing. You can learn more here canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/canal-and-river-network 👍🏼🎣

Be cool to see more like this. Noticed that the braid on both reels was twisted up, i get same trouble. is it something that can be stopped? ive tried spooling my reels in almost everyway i can find instruction on how to do and still eventually end up with this issue. Any tips out there?
@FoxRageTV Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. We have plenty more content coming. This happens with braid sometimes but we never experienced any issues with performance.

when targeting perch on Tiny jigs with a 1-2g jighead is a trace always needed ?
@leftmono1016 Жыл бұрын
I’ve had 8lb pike on 50mm creature lures. And lots similar. They will take anything if they’re hunting. Use a thin wire trace, 0.2mm and it’s pretty much invisible 👍
