You have a certain style or signature to your modelling which makes it both instantly recognisable and immediately inspirational. A ‘Nevard Filter’ of you like. Your also as mad as a brush which is essential in this hobby of ours. Thanks for everything you do Chris. 👍

Hi Chris! I have been a long admirer of this particular layout and the photographs you've been able to get out of it, so it's quite delightful to see this upclose in this video. Thanks, and look forward as always to your content. Cheers from Australia

Blooming marvellous. A beautiful piece of work. I'd almost forgotten about the Cyrils of the world, but I'm sure the memories will come flooding back just as soon as we're permitted to once again visit exhibitions (as long as we are wearing portable oxygen tents and they only allow one person in at a time or something like that).

I think this is my favourite of your layouts; I can just see myself sitting there somewhere on a warm summer's evening, eating my sandwiches and watching the trains go by. And I love the concrete bridge, not because it is a thing of beauty but because it is so utterly convincing.

Cracking video Chris. The end bit put me in mind of ‘Micheal Bentine’s Potty-Time’, you’ll be too young to remember! 🤪👍🍻🍻

The detail in your wonderful model is fantastic and has brought Catcott Burtle to have a life of its own. As a part time scribbler, pretend musician and beer fancier, too, I am a very delighted subscriber. Thank you for sharing it.

That large tree may be unlikely, but it sure is lovely. Well done. Ooh and the one at the other end is nice too. Oh, and to help you remember your grasses; Sedges have Edges and Rushes are Round, and Grasses are Hollow all the way to the Ground. Not that that does you much good on the model railway. Though call them by the wrong name and Cyril will no doubt have a word with you to set you straight.

Beautiful. Putting aside the massive attention to detail (of which there is a lot) the charm and atmosphere you’ve captured is a work of art in itself. I could very easily imagine being there for real with the sights, sounds, smells and shimmering heat of the summer. Shame it’s going on the bonfire at Cyril’s behest.

Beautiful! Such good modelling. Subscribed and looking forward to more content. Cyril forgot to point out the piece missing from the roof is a ridge tile not a coping stone.

Thankyou for letting us into your world Chris. I liked this from the first time it appeared in stages in a magazine. Probably a benchmark for others to aspire to.... Do you ever use sound locos? I know some of the steam sound chips aren't too realistic and can bring on migraines📣. Would be nice to see a 9F with sound and smoke idling at Catcott for a minute or too.

Great to get a close up look at this fantastic layout Chris you have really nailed the look and feel of the levels the area council is named Sedgemoor after the local sedge cutters from days now long gone how did you replicate the concrete colour and texture so well ? I always struggle with getting the right look. Cheers Pete

Cheers Sir. Concrete is grey, white, red, black aerosols sprayed from 3 feet away to give a gritty effect.

How do you design your layouts? Do you do a lot of drawings or study photos or do ideas just come to you in the night? I tend to draw a plan looking down from above but I suspect you are designing them based on the viewing angles? However you come up with these ideas its working brilliantly.

I usually do full sized mock ups. Track templates printed out. Etc etc. And lots of prototype pics. Never copy other layouts. Some ideas come at 3 in morning or on long motorway drives.

Chris, I am always in awe of your work. Did you use the flat bridge because the canal turned into more of a drain than a canal and a hump bridge would have been incongruous with the appearance of the "canal"?
