Abbey thinks in memories and categories. She puts good things with good things and bad things with bad things because that is the way her autism works for her. She hopes this song will reach people on the autism spectrum who think similarly. Happy Autism Awareness day!

It comes down to the question of who are you? If you identify yourself with thoughts than yes you can be friends with people that have similar thoughts, otherwise you are too different. But if you identify yourself as this spirit that has feelings and sensations, basically "the heart", than you can feel connected to others and everyone no matter what your mind says. You basically don't have enemies anymore. Enemies come from having different thoughts. Nowadays so many people identify with their thoughts that people like Abbey can feel left out because they are similar to others in ways that other's don't identify themselves with even though they are these things.

Abbey talks all he time about not being a part of our world because of her autism and that now that ses older she's feels like she has the tools to be a part of the world she felt rejected from. I would venture to think that would choke most people up? She had sheer determination and is reaping the benefits now. It absolutely made me cry happy tears. Watching Abbey be Abbey is a tremendous mix of emotions mostly it is absolutely beautiful to see her living her truth and realness but as a 51 y.o. still officially undiagnosed with anything but definitely living with a neurodivergent brain and a maybe adhd as well as an immense list of other probably not right diagnoses sometimes it hurts a little too but I am in healing phase and working to find my own authenticity and mostly when I'm feeling triggered seeing Abbey so supported in her authenticity brings a kind of balance to my own journey. Well done Abbey, this is a really well put together video. You’ve really taught me a lot of about how autistic people view their autism, like how things you say don’t come out the way you want them to. Like there is two versions of you, like in Girl Inside also. Like it’s hard for you to think of the right words in the moment so it’s easier to rely on memories even if sometimes it’s a little out of context with the situation and how frustrating that can be. Maybe this is not the same for every person with Autism but it’s always good to know as much as possible. Anyway keep going and keep always doing your best. Loved the dancing and the chorus.
