Caterina Valente (1931), hostess of the 'Hollywood Palace Show', performs 'Manhã de Carnaval' ('Morning of Carnival'), written by the Brazilian composer, arranger, guitar player and singer Luiz Bonfá (1922-2001), with lyrics by the Brazilian poet, composer, chronicler, writer, lyricist and radio sports commentator Antônio Maria (1921-1964). From the opera 'Black Orpheus' (1959).

Despite the not perfect recording quality, this is one of the most beautiful interpretations of “Manhia De Carneval” from the film: “Orfeo Negro”. Both musicians, the composer of this piece - Louiz Bonfa - and the singer and entertainer Caterina Valente - interpret a unique version of this wonderful song here in a duet. Note the 2nd voice from Caterina from 1:54 a.m. She sings it so deeply that I can't hold back my tears.
