Nice footage of a good old soldier still doing exactly what was designed to do. I really don't think the more modern designs are gonna be anything but scrap before they reach the age of this one.

I have operated everything from a D3 up to a D11 but the 9H is by far my favorite

The largest conventional (low track) dozer that CAT ever made I believe?
@iBackshift3 жыл бұрын
That D9 needs a "Blaylock" variable vane turbo like JPaydirt uses. Extended his oil change intervals, less soot in the oil from the engine accelerating.

PAmining I think it would be neat to do a series with machines from first breaking ground to reclamation. Planning and design is interesting also.
@bethanyhaskiell91163 жыл бұрын
Yes if you could do a series of videos from going in and clearing the trees to start stripping the overburden to pulling the coal out then reclamation that would be a awesome series of videos

Awesome to see that ole cat work we have a 50s D6 and it’s a great dozer on our farm for clearing brush and pushing and pulling out stumps but I can’t believe these were the big dozers in there day now there massive but nothing beats these old machines

Thanks for this video. a question, it seems to me this could be done faster with a wheel loader to pick up the coal then move it?, OR bring in a dragline to move it farther and faster? which is cheaper....a dragline, a bulldozer or a wheel loader to do this moving of coal? thanks.
@PAmining3 жыл бұрын
A dozer is most effective and commonly used for doing any stockpiling work around a belt line. Thanks!

Pretty sure that's how you want to steer a low drive tractor under load. Otherwise you can easily through a clutch.
