Nice little tractor. Straight tin work and complete with many of the goodies that get lost over time. Tempting to check inside the barn for the engine side panels; might get lucky.

My late father’s 22 had the 14 inch “orchard” tracks, so it seemed better proportioned than the ones with the narrow tracks. Great little tractor. Easy to identify by the absence of an upper track idler.

I love seeing these old machines! A lot of our country was built with hard work and simple machines like these!

My dad has a 39' R2. My grandfather had a 22 but was in pieces, we so regret not taking it when he passed, would of been a fun little project.

A very interesting, story of the Cat 22. The running on cheap Kerosene not really highlighted before.

Another interesting walk round ty , over here in Scotland most of the Cats that were spark ignition started on normal petrol and then run on paraffin which I think is the same as kerosene 🤔👍👍

The 22 looks like the bigger brother to your Ten that you have back at the house. Quite a bit if similarity between the two in the way the track frames are built. Thanks for sharing Squatch!

i take it the drive sprocket are cast iron.. not cast steel making welding up the wear and reshaping them much harder. but perhaps new are still available or even freshly cast from home made patterns.

Those tractors were built to last a long while, weren't they? I'd love to hear this one running from start up to operation...but no matter, I appreciate the walk around just as much. Thanks again!

Looks like a LeTourneau WWII airdrop scraper in the background , very rare machine . Pusher blade on the front , all run by a cable control unit . NOT OSHA approved for the operator !!! LOL , tough to control going down hill with the steering brakes , no ROPS back in the day

Hi Squatch, I am in the process of getting a Caterpillar 22 back to good working order. It has been in my family for 3 generations and I would like to give it some TLC. I had some questions for you. I tried to find an email address to personally email you but I have had no luck. If you could send me an email I would really appreciate it if I could pick your brain a little bit. By the way I really enjoy all of your videos. I love the old school technology. Thanks

Know where one like that is for sale now. There asking $1200. Rebuild Mag, but story is. Sat in building for years. Engine is stuck now, and some parts gone. But looks to be around 80% of it there.

With all these walkarounds and your Cat knowledge, I have a good question for you. When i was younger, in the 60s the house next to me was being built. The excavator crew had a very small cat dozer on the site. It looked like regular Cats, but it was maybe 6 ft long × 31/2 ft wide. It was yellow, had regular tracks and a push blade. I believe it was a gas model. I use to love when it moved because the tracks made a sound like sleigh bells tinkling. Have you ever seen one, or know what model it could have been?
