I have never seen so many caterpillars in one bed Terry, Sorry about the club root. Once my beds are empty the nets are taken off and left off until i am going to plant into that bed again. Blackberries and Raspberries look succulent. The old guy behind me has Street light covers that he uses on his brassicas, Not sure of they are the same as yours but they are conical in shape. Have a great week, love to you and Mrs K mate 💙❤

I had my cabbages, caulis and kohl rabi under mesh this year, kept the flea beetles off, plants performed amazingly, then somehow the 'whites' got in, ended up with stripy caterpillars and green ones too! No idea how they managed it, so collected them up and popped them onto some spares I'd thrown in around the plot, they've enjoyed demolishing those plants, birds have had a few to eat, but nature is preserved!

Lots of people use council recycled green waste and I must admit it horrifies me as they can have no idea what it contains. even if heat treated i am not sure it would get rid of weedkiller and pesticide residues, although it should remove disease and spores etc. It is so tempting just to feast on fruits, peas etc growing on the allotment, with no washing facilities.
